Redmi K100 May Arrive in August, But the Most Powerful Model Is Reportedly Set for 2027

Redmi’s K100 lineup may not follow a single launch window, and that is the most surprising part of the latest rumor. While the standard Redmi K100 series is still expected to appear in China as early as August, the top-end Redmi K100 Pro Max is now said to be waiting until the first half of 2027.

The split timeline suggests Redmi could open the series with the regular and Pro models first, then save the most powerful version for a later stage. If accurate, it would be an unusual strategy for a flagship family that is expected to draw attention from the moment it debuts.

A flagship chip is already in testing

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, one upcoming Redmi flagship is currently being tested with Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The chip is said to be built on TSMC’s 2nm N2P process, which places it among the most advanced mobile platforms in development.

The device name has not been confirmed, but the timing and positioning strongly point to the Redmi K100 Pro Max. Earlier reports had already linked that name to the highest tier of the K100 family.

What sets the Pro Max apart

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is expected to use Qualcomm’s next Oryon CPU architecture, configured with two prime cores, three performance cores, and three efficiency cores. Previous reports also suggested the prime cores could exceed 5GHz, which would make it a major step forward for a Redmi-branded flagship.

Cooling is also said to be a priority. One reported possibility is an active cooling fan, a feature that would help sustain performance during extended heavy workloads if Redmi decides to use it in the final device.

The earlier K100 models may still be aggressive

Even without the Pro Max, the rest of the K100 family is shaping up to be ambitious. The Redmi K100 and Redmi K100 Pro are both expected to rely on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, keeping them firmly in flagship territory.

That launch could also happen much earlier than the previous generation. Some reports have pointed to August for the K100 series, a notable shift from the Redmi K90 family, which arrived in October 2025.

The rumored specifications around the early K100 models are equally attention-grabbing. A 185Hz display and a 9,000mAh battery are both being associated with the series, giving it a potential advantage in both smoothness and endurance.

Cameras, charging, and premium extras

Camera leaks point to a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Those are the kinds of specifications usually associated with phones trying to compete beyond the usual performance race.

Charging support is also expected to be extensive, with 100W wired charging and wireless charging both mentioned in the rumor cycle. Other premium features reportedly include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, a large vibration motor, and water resistance with an IP rating.

For now, the clearest picture is that Redmi may be preparing a two-stage launch for the K100 family. The K100 and K100 Pro could lead the series in August, while the rumored K100 Pro Max appears to be reserved for a later generation of Qualcomm silicon and a much later debut window.
