Nothing Phone (4b) RCB Edition Ditches Transparency for a Bold Matte Red Look

Nothing is taking a noticeably different approach with the Phone (4b) RCB Edition. Instead of leaning on the transparent design language that has defined the brand, the special version embraces a matte red finish created with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The collaboration gives the upcoming phone a sharper identity before its July 7 launch. It also positions the device as more than a routine midrange release, with a collector-oriented design that reflects the RCB partnership.

A red edition built around team identity

Nothing India teased the project on Instagram, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru players were shown contributing ideas to the design concept. The result is a phone that uses a bold red color as its main visual cue and is meant to represent the team’s identity.

Beyond the color change, the special edition is expected to include a team logo on the back, a custom interface theme, exclusive wallpapers, and collector-style packaging. Those details make the RCB version stand apart from the standard model without changing the core hardware story.

The regular model keeps Nothing’s familiar look

The standard Phone (4b) is still expected to stay close to Nothing’s established design language. Reported color options include Black, White, and Blue, all with the brand’s transparent rear panel.

Glyph Interface support is also expected to remain in place, continuing to serve as a visual alert system for notifications, calls, and video recording. A dual camera setup at the upper-left corner is likewise said to remain part of the design.

Hardware points to a stronger midrange package

For performance, the Phone (4b) is rumored to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. The chip is said to improve efficiency and overall performance compared with the previous generation.

Nothing is also said to be preparing 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage options. Some reports suggest that the Indian market may receive up to four different variants, giving buyers more flexibility in choosing a configuration.

Display and battery upgrades appear to be among the key talking points around the phone. The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the battery is tipped to reach 6,000mAh.

That battery capacity would reportedly be the largest Nothing has used in a smartphone so far. If accurate, it would help the Phone (4b) appeal to users who care about endurance as much as design.

Nothing is building a wider product push

The Phone (4b) launch is also expected to arrive alongside the Nothing Ear (3a). That pairing suggests the company is trying to move beyond a single standout handset and into a more connected product lineup.

The timing is important for India, where cricket has massive cultural reach and smartphone competition is intense. By linking the phone to RCB, Nothing is aiming for attention that goes beyond typical product-spec messaging.

The strategy also fits the Phone (4b)’s positioning as a more accessible “b” series model. With Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a 120Hz AMOLED panel, and a 6,000mAh battery in the picture, the device is shaping up to be a closely watched midrange launch when official details arrive on July 7.
