Burgman 15 Costs More Than PCX160, Suzuki Packs It With Premium Features

Suzuki has put the Burgman 15 in the spotlight in the Philippines with a price tag that sits above the Honda PCX160, even though both scooters compete in the same premium commuter segment. The gap is large enough to make the Burgman 15 stand out immediately, especially since its appeal is built less on performance and more on equipment.

The Burgman 15 is sold in the Philippines for 165,000 Peso, or around Rp48.1 million. By comparison, the Honda PCX160 is priced at about 133,500 Peso, equivalent to around Rp38 million, which makes the Suzuki model noticeably more expensive for buyers weighing the two side by side.

Imported model with a familiar base

One reason behind the higher price is its status as an imported model from China. The Burgman 15 is also not an entirely new motorcycle, as it is essentially a rebranded Haojue UFR150 that previously appeared in Colombia.

That background helps explain why Suzuki is positioning it as a premium scooter rather than a volume-oriented entry. The model is aimed at riders who value a larger visual presence and a long list of standard features.

Model Price in the Philippines Approximate Rupiah Notable Point
Suzuki Burgman 15 165,000 Peso Rp48.1 million Imported from China
Honda PCX160 133,500 Peso Rp38 million Lower price in the same segment

Maxi scooter styling with a premium look

Visually, the Burgman 15 follows a maxi scooter theme with smooth bodywork and minimal sharp lines. The front end draws clear inspiration from the Suzuki Burgman 400, including a modern LED lighting setup that reinforces its upscale image.

The design gives the scooter a larger and more refined presence from the first glance. Suzuki appears to be targeting riders who want a practical daily scooter that still carries the feel of a bigger machine.

149 cc engine, but not the strongest figure in class

Power comes from a 149 cc, four-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. The unit produces 10.6 kW at 8,500 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Those numbers place it slightly below some rivals in the 150 cc category. Even so, Suzuki is clearly leaning on comfort and equipment rather than headline-making output.

Equipment list is the real attraction

The Burgman 15 comes with a full-color TFT instrument panel that supports day and night modes. It also adds Traction Control System, Intelligent Key, and Dual Channel ABS for a more complete premium package.

Another notable inclusion is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, or TPMS. That feature is still uncommon on Japanese scooters in the 150 cc class, which gives the Burgman 15 a meaningful edge in equipment.

Feature Burgman 15 Why It Matters
TFT display Full-color with day and night modes Modern and easier to read
Safety systems Traction Control System, Dual Channel ABS Improves rider confidence
Convenience Intelligent Key, USB-C ports More practical for daily use
TPMS Included Rare in this class

The scooter also offers two USB Type-C ports, a 25-liter storage compartment, full LED lighting with DRL, hazard lights, a passing light, and a front fuel cap for easier refueling. The package is clearly designed to feel complete straight from the showroom.

Comfort-focused details and a notable omission

Suzuki equips the Burgman 15 with 14-inch wheels at both ends, a setup intended to support flexible riding and comfort for both rider and passenger. The rear footrest arrangement also contributes to a more relaxed seating position.

Despite the modern TFT panel, the Burgman 15 still does not support smartphone connectivity. That omission keeps it from matching every feature shoppers might expect in a current premium scooter.

Potential for Indonesia remains open

There is still no confirmation on whether the Burgman 15 will be sold in Indonesia. However, its appearance in the DKI Jakarta Samsat database has already triggered speculation that the model could eventually reach the local market.

Its launch in the Philippines offers an early look at Suzuki’s broader plan to expand the Burgman name across Asia. With a price above the Honda PCX160 and a feature set that leans heavily on premium equipment, the Burgman 15 is clearly aimed at buyers who want status, convenience, and technology in one package.
