Samsung has positioned the Galaxy M47 5G as a mid-range phone that leans heavily on longevity, performance, and display quality. The new model combines a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED panel, and a software support promise that stretches across six Android generations.

That combination gives the Galaxy M47 5G a clear identity in a crowded market. For users who want a phone that should stay relevant for years, Samsung is backing the device with long-term updates, a large battery, and features designed to reduce heat during gaming.

Display and durability come first

The Galaxy M47 5G uses a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to use for scrolling, navigation, and outdoor viewing.

Samsung adds Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front. The layer is intended to improve resistance to scratches and light impacts, which fits the phone’s practical, everyday focus.

Display Feature Specification
Panel 6.7-inch Super AMOLED
Resolution Full HD+
Refresh Rate 120Hz
Peak Brightness 1,400 nits
Protection Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and flexible storage

Inside, the phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 built on a 4nm process. Samsung pairs the chipset with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

There is also a hybrid card slot that supports microSD expansion up to 2TB. That makes the Galaxy M47 5G more adaptable for users who need extra space for apps, media, and large files.

Battery life is a major selling point

Samsung equips the Galaxy M47 5G with a 6,000mAh battery and 45W wired fast charging. The company also includes bypass charging, a feature that sends power directly to the system during gaming to help reduce heat and protect battery health.

The battery setup is one of the clearest signs that Samsung wants the device to appeal to heavy daily users. It is built for people who want endurance, not just fast peak performance.

Android 16 and a long support window

The Galaxy M47 5G ships with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. Samsung says the phone will receive six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

That support policy is a key part of the phone’s value proposition. It places the Galaxy M47 5G among the more future-proof options in the mid-range segment, especially for buyers who keep their phones for a long time.

Samsung also includes Circle to Search, Gemini, Knox Vault, and on-device voice message features. These additions reinforce the company’s effort to make the M-series feel more complete without moving into flagship pricing territory.

Cameras and launch details

On the back, the phone carries a triple-camera setup made up of a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 12MP selfie camera.

Both the front and rear cameras support video recording up to 4K. That gives the Galaxy M47 5G enough flexibility for users who want to shoot social content or casual high-resolution video.

Camera Specification
Main Rear Camera 50MP with OIS
Ultrawide Camera 8MP
Macro Camera 2MP
Front Camera 12MP
Video Recording Up to 4K on front and rear cameras

The phone arrives in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue. In India, the starting price is Rs 22.999, including a launch coupon offer, with first sales scheduled through Amazon India on 4 July.

Samsung’s wider mid-range push is also evident in the Galaxy M47 5G’s positioning. The company had previously introduced the Galaxy A27 5G to the global market with the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform and a 50MP OIS main camera.
