HMD Global is giving Nokia’s feature phone lineup an unusual upgrade: built-in AI controlled by a dedicated button in the center of the D-pad. The move turns four simple handsets into devices that can do more than calls and texts, while still keeping the practical identity that has long defined Nokia feature phones.
The four models are the Nokia 200 4G, Nokia 210 4G, Nokia 215 4G 2nd Edition, and Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition. They all include the Sikey AI assistant, which can handle voice commands for basic tasks such as switching on the flashlight, opening the camera, setting alarms and reminders, and making phone calls.
What the new AI button actually does
The assistant is not limited to device controls. It can also answer basic questions and provide example sentences in foreign languages, giving the phones a broader utility than a standard feature phone.
That added function is paired with a familiar hardware approach. The phones still run on S30+ and use a removable 1,450 mAh battery, keeping the focus on simplicity and long battery life.

Classic feature phone hardware, modern connectivity
HMD Global also equips the new phones with 4G, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and USB-C. For messaging and extra communication, the devices support Xpress Chat with video calling, voice messages, group chats, photos, and emoji.
Beyond the handset itself, the phones can tap cloud services for video access, weather updates, sports news, and other content without putting pressure on internal storage. That keeps the experience light while still making the devices feel more connected than older feature phones.

The pricing detail that matters most
The AI feature is free for the first 180 days, after which users must pay for a subscription. Buyers also need to complete the subscription purchase through a smartphone or PC, which adds an extra step to a feature that is meant to simplify use.
HMD Global has not disclosed full availability or final pricing for all four models, but the Nokia 200 4G is expected to start at $29. The strategy suggests the company is aiming at users who want a secondary phone or a low-distraction device, not a smartphone replacement.
That positioning makes the new lineup notable. Instead of chasing more complexity, HMD Global is using AI to make basic phones more capable while preserving the essentials that still define the category.
