Xiaomi Smart Band 11 is moving closer to launch, but the most notable detail so far is not an upgraded battery. Two Xiaomi wearables that recently passed network approval in China are widely believed to be the standard and NFC versions of the new band, and both appear to keep the same 233mAh battery capacity.
That points to a familiar strategy from Xiaomi. Instead of leaning on a bigger battery, the company may be preparing to refresh the experience through software, sensors, or other hardware refinements when the Smart Band 11 is finally announced.
Two models clear approval in China
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved two Xiaomi Bluetooth devices under model numbers M2616B1 and M2617B1. Tipster Experience More says the two devices are Xiaomi Smart Band 11 and Xiaomi Smart Band 11 NFC.
| Model | Variant | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| M2616B1 | Smart Band 11 | Network approval granted | Believed to be the standard version |
| M2617B1 | Smart Band 11 NFC | Network approval granted | Believed to be the NFC version |
If that identification is correct, the two models will succeed the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 and Smart Band 10 NFC. The certification pattern also mirrors the previous generation, where Smart Band 10 Pro reportedly used M2551B1 and M2553B1 for its standard and NFC variants.
UL listing data for the new band also points to the same 233mAh battery figure. In other words, Xiaomi does not appear to be preparing a capacity upgrade for the upcoming model.
Launch timing still points to the second half of the year
Another tipster, Smart Pikachu, says Mi Band 11 is still on track for a launch in the second half of the year. The full specification sheet has not surfaced yet, but earlier certification activity in Taiwan’s NCC database already suggested that the device was in active preparation.
A separate wearable with model number M2561B1 also appeared in certification databases in Singapore and Taiwan in May. It is listed only as a “smart bracelet,” so it remains unclear whether it belongs to the same family or represents another Xiaomi wearable in development.
How it compares with Smart Band 10
For context, the standard Smart Band 10 comes with a 1.72-inch AMOLED display, 1500 nits peak brightness, a 233mAh battery, more than 150 sports modes, and HyperOS 2.0. When it launched in China, Xiaomi positioned it as a daily band focused on a bright display and long battery life.
| Device | Display | Battery | Main Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smart Band 10 | 1.72-inch AMOLED, 1500 nits | 233mAh, up to 21 days | More than 150 sports modes, HyperOS 2.0 |
| Smart Band 10 Pro | 1.74-inch, 2000 nits | Not specified | HRV tracking, built-in GNSS, Apple Health support |
The Pro model in that lineup adds a 1.74-inch display with 2000 nits brightness, HRV tracking, built-in GNSS, and Apple Health support. With the Smart Band 11 seemingly holding at 233mAh, Xiaomi may need those kinds of feature upgrades to make the next model stand out.
Gizmochina says more details are likely to emerge as the expected launch window gets closer. For now, the clearest signal is that Xiaomi Smart Band 11 and its NFC variant have already cleared an important step on the road to an official debut.
