Oppo Find N7 is shaping up to be a foldable that tries to move well beyond the previous generation. The latest leak points to testing with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 built on 2nm, along with an early battery target of 6,500mAh.
If that information proves accurate, the device would not simply succeed the Find N6. It could also become one of the first foldables to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, placing Oppo in a more aggressive position in the premium folding segment.
Chipset testing points to a major leap
Digital Chat Station, in a Weibo post translated from Mandarin, said the Oppo Find N7 is being tested with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 under the SM8950 code. Qualcomm is also said to be preparing the chipset for a later launch this year, together with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
The same leak adds that Oppo is testing an on-device AI accelerator for the Find N7. That detail suggests a stronger focus on local AI processing, reducing reliance on external computing for some tasks.
| Detail | Oppo Find N7 | Oppo Find N6 |
|---|---|---|
| Chipset | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950) | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 |
| Battery | Early target 6,500mAh | 6,000mAh |
| Charging | Not yet mentioned | 80W wired, 50W wireless |
A larger battery may be the bigger change
The most striking part of the leak is the battery capacity. The source says the Find N7 is being tested with a battery that starts with “6,” with an initial engineering target of 6,500mAh.
If true, that would exceed the Find N6, which carries a 6,000mAh battery. Combined with a newer chip, that could make the Find N7 better suited for heavy daily use.
Launch timing still follows a yearly rhythm
The leak also says the Oppo Find N7 is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2027. That schedule matches the release pattern of its predecessor, which launched in March this year.
Oppo Find N6 launched at CNY 9,999, or about Rp 1,34 lakh. It featured an 8.12-inch internal display and a 6.62-inch AMOLED cover screen.
For imaging, the Find N6 uses a Hasselblad-tuned quad rear camera setup, including a 200-megapixel main sensor. It also includes two 20-megapixel front cameras to complete the foldable package.
For now, the Oppo Find N7 remains a rumor, but the direction is becoming clearer. Oppo appears to be working on a foldable with a bigger battery, a newer chipset, and a stronger push into on-device AI.
