Huawei has introduced the Pura 90s series in Malaysia, led by the Pura 90s Pro Max with a 200 MP Ultra Large Sensor telephoto camera. Indonesia is expected to follow, although local pricing and availability have not been announced.
The Pro Max uses a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor for its telephoto camera, setting it apart from the standard Pro model. Huawei has positioned photography as the central appeal of its new flagship line.
Prices Announced for Malaysia
The Malaysia announcement covers two memory configurations for each model, according to inet.detik.com. All listed prices are in euros.
| Model | Configuration | Price |

| Huawei Pura 90s Pro | 12 GB/256 GB | €899 |

Camera and Charging Divide the Models
Huawei Pura 90s Pro carries a 50 MP telephoto camera, while the Pro Max receives the 200 MP unit. The two phones also differ in wired charging support.
| Model | Telephoto Camera | Charging | Colour Options |
|---|---|---|---|
| Huawei Pura 90s Pro | 50 MP | 66W SuperCharge | Orange Soda, Coconut White, Guava Soda, Mulberry Black |
| Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max | 200 MP Ultra Large Sensor | 100W Wired SuperCharge | Graphite Black, Blush Gold, Orange Ocean |
The Pro model has four colour options, whereas the Pro Max comes in three. In return, the Pro Max offers 100W Wired SuperCharge instead of the 66W SuperCharge available on the Pro.
Both phones include a 50 MP Ultra Lighting HDR Camera and True-to-Colour Camera 2.0. Huawei says these imaging technologies are intended to deliver clearer images, sharper detail, and colours that reflect the atmosphere of a scene.
Hardware and Connected Features
The two models share the Kirin 9030s chipset and a 6,000 mAh battery. This hardware combination is intended to support daily use and activities that rely on 5G connectivity.
Huawei says 5G can provide smoother streaming, faster downloads, and lower latency where compatible network coverage is available. The Pura 90s line also includes the Celia AI assistant, which can handle several tasks through a single request.
The software ecosystem is said to support access to popular applications, including Google apps. Users can install, update, and manage applications with one click for productivity, communication, entertainment, navigation, banking, shopping, and lifestyle needs.
Photography Remains the Main Message
At the launch event at Astana at Bamboo Hills, Huawei Technology Head of Product Andrea Zimmer described the company’s focus on photography. She said Huawei views the best camera as one that is always with users as life unfolds.
Zimmer also highlighted the role of True-to-Colour Camera technology in retaining the atmosphere of a photographed scene. The 200 MP telephoto camera remains the most prominent distinction for the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max as the series approaches Indonesia.
