Xiaomi’s Dual-3K Solar Camera Keeps Watch Where Wi-Fi and Power Are Missing

Xiaomi has introduced the Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Dual-Camera Edition for outdoor locations where Wi-Fi and power outlets are unavailable. The device combines solar charging, a large battery, dual-SIM 4G connectivity, and two 3K cameras in one surveillance system.

Its main appeal is the ability to monitor a broad area while following detected movement with a separate moving camera. That setup is intended for sites such as gardens, construction areas, and other remote locations that still need remote monitoring.

Wide Coverage Meets Motion Tracking

Both cameras use 5MP sensors capable of recording 3K video and feature f/1.6 lenses. One is a fixed wide-angle camera for general surveillance, while the other uses a pan-tilt-zoom mechanism.

The movable camera can rotate up to 355 degrees horizontally and 95 degrees vertically. Xiaomi’s AI tracking system coordinates both cameras so the moving unit can follow a detected person or object.

This arrangement gives users a wide view of the surroundings without losing a closer, more focused view when activity occurs. Rather than recording only one fixed angle, the system can react to movement within the monitored area.

Designed to Operate Away From Home Networks

Instead of relying on a home wireless network, the camera includes a built-in dual-SIM 4G system. It can switch networks automatically to help maintain connectivity and includes free data for remote viewing through the Mi Home app.

Power comes from a 9,900mAh battery paired with a 7.6W solar panel. Xiaomi says the combination can provide continuous power without the need for routine manual charging.

Component Specification Purpose
Battery 9,900mAh Supports independent outdoor use
Solar panel 7.6W Supplies power without an outlet
Connectivity Dual-SIM 4G Enables monitoring without Wi-Fi
Local storage microSD up to 256GB Stores recordings locally

Colour Footage When a Person Is Detected

For night surveillance, the camera starts with infrared night vision. White LEDs turn on when a person is detected, allowing the device to capture footage in colour.

The camera also includes two-way audio with noise reduction for remote communication through the app. Its IP66 rating is intended to protect the unit from dust and water in outdoor installations.

If unusual activity is detected, the system can activate a siren and flashing lights while sending a notification to the user’s phone. It also supports HyperOS Connect for integration with Xiaomi’s smart-home ecosystem.

Storage-Saving Continuous Recording

Xiaomi’s Always-On Video system is designed to reduce local storage use when the environment is quiet. In that state, it records a time-lapse frame every two seconds and is claimed to cut storage consumption by about 90 percent.

Normal recording resumes when the camera recognizes a person or vehicle. This approach is intended to preserve microSD capacity while retaining continuous awareness of the monitored location.

According to information listed on Xiaomi Youpin and reported by Gizmochina, the model has been released in China after an earlier crowdfunding stage. It is priced at 649 yuan in China, while availability in other markets has not been specified.
