Hisense A10 Turns an E-Ink Phone Into a Dual-Screen Daily Device With 6 Features

Hisense is positioning the A10 as more than a phone for reading digital books and documents. The device combines a 6.13-inch e-ink display with an optional colour LCD on its rear, allowing users to choose a screen based on the content they are viewing.

That dual-screen arrangement is the A10’s central distinction. The e-ink panel is intended for reading and note-taking, while the rear colour display is designed for photos, comics, graphics, and everyday social applications.

Two Screens, Different Tasks

The front e-ink screen retains the paper-like viewing character associated with Hisense’s e-ink phone range. It is intended to provide a calmer display for document reading, long PDF sessions, and handwritten annotations.

The rear LCD addresses material that is less suitable for monochrome viewing. Users can switch between the two displays according to the type of content being opened.

6 Built-In Functions for Daily Use

1. NFC

The A10 includes NFC support as part of its connectivity features. Hisense lists it among the additions that extend the phone beyond a dedicated reading device.

2. Infrared Control

An infrared function allows the phone to operate as a remote control. It can control air conditioners, televisions, projectors, and set-top boxes without requiring an internet connection.

3. Native App Cloning

Hisense includes native app cloning for popular applications. The function enables users to duplicate supported apps directly on the device.

4. Built-In Call Recording

Built-in call recording is also listed among the A10’s practical functions. Hisense has presented it as part of the phone’s broader daily-use capability.

5. Magnetic Wireless Charging

The A10 supports magnetic wireless charging. This feature adds another conventional smartphone function to a device centred on e-ink efficiency.

6. Fast Refresh Mode

Hisense has prepared a dedicated fast refresh mode for the e-ink panel. Gizmochina reports that the mode is intended to reduce the feeling of sluggishness and minimise ghosting.

Ghosting refers to residual traces of a previous image that can remain visible on an e-ink display. The fast refresh option is therefore relevant when the phone is used for content that changes more frequently.

Enterprise-Class Chip and Android 16

The A10 uses Qualcomm’s QCM6690, an octa-core enterprise-class processor built on a 4 nm process. Hisense says the chip supports PDF page turns, split-screen views for multiple documents, and smooth handwritten annotation during extended sessions.

The QCM6690 also handles an intelligent temperature management system designed to suppress ghosting. When the display is idle for reading, the chip frequency can be lowered automatically to extend battery life compared with the use of typical flagship chips.

Hisense plans to ship the A10 with Android 16 from launch and has promised long-term system updates and security patches. The company has not specified the duration of that software support.

The A10 represents Hisense’s first major update in this category since the A9 returned to sale last year with an updated specification sheet. More information is expected closer to the August launch, with sales anticipated to begin toward the end of that month.
