Vivo’s S-series could return to India after an absence of nearly seven years, with the Vivo S2 tipped as the model that revives the lineup. The reported device would enter a much tougher premium mid-range market than the one Vivo S1 faced in 2019.
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Vivo S2 carries the model number V2576 and may launch in early August 2026. Sales are expected to begin around August 15, although Vivo has not officially confirmed either date.
The handset has also appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database, adding weight to expectations of an approaching announcement. Such certification listings often emerge when a device is moving closer to launch.
A New Position for the S-Series
Gizmochina reported that Vivo plans to position the Vivo S2 in the premium mid-range category. That placement could put it in competition with devices such as the Oppo Reno 16 Pro in India.
The phone is expected to be priced below Rs. 50,000 in India. This estimate takes into account pricing changes in the premium mid-range segment and the memory chip shortage situation.
Vivo has not disclosed the chipset, display, operating system, or camera configuration for the Vivo S2. Reports therefore remain speculative until the company releases official product information.
Design, camera capabilities, and improved image processing could become important points of differentiation for the device. Those areas align with the approach that helped define the earlier Vivo S1.
