Premium camera phones are beginning to borrow a feature long associated with dedicated cameras: physical lens accessories. Grip attachments, teleconverters and filter mounts are becoming part of the photography proposition alongside larger sensors and computational imaging.
The shift is most visible in models designed for longer focal lengths. Vivo X300 Ultra, Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra each support accessory systems intended to extend control or optical reach.

The seven devices take different routes toward advanced mobile photography. Some prioritise optical hardware, while others focus on video tools, image processing or artificial intelligence.
1. Vivo X300 Ultra
Vivo X300 Ultra uses a 200MP Sony LYTIA 901 main camera with a 35mm focal length, a gimbal-equipped 200MP 85mm periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP 14mm Zeiss ultrawide camera. Its Professional Imaging Kit includes a camera grip and Zeiss teleconverter modules.
The 200mm module provides 8.7x optical zoom at a 200mm equivalent focal length. A separate 400mm option is intended for more distant subjects.
2. Oppo Find X9 Ultra
Oppo Find X9 Ultra combines a 200MP main sensor, a 200MP telephoto camera and a 10x Hasselblad optical zoom lens. The Hasselblad lens is described as maintaining optical quality up to 20x.
LUMO internal zoom technology is said to preserve detail at 2x and 6x ranges through increased pixel output. Its Hasselblad Master mode offers 8K photo output and an Original Film profile.
The Earth Explorer Kit includes a teleconverter, grip and a 67mm filter adapter. This makes the device one of the models that most clearly extends beyond a conventional phone camera setup.
3. iPhone 17 Pro
iPhone 17 Pro features three 48MP rear cameras: a Fusion camera, an ultrawide camera and a telephoto camera with a larger sensor. The telephoto system reaches 4x optical zoom at 100mm and 8x at 200mm.
The A19 Pro chip supports updates to the Photonic Engine. Physical Camera Controls provide quick access to exposure, depth and photographic styles.
Video support includes 4K Dolby Vision recording at up to 120fps and spatial audio capture. These capabilities place video creation at the centre of the model’s camera package.
4. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra focuses on low-light capture with a 200MP main camera using an f/1.4 lens and a 50MP ultrawide camera using an f/1.9 lens. Its zoom cameras include a 10MP 3x telephoto unit and a 50MP 5x periscope unit.
Gizmochina reported that the wider apertures help the cameras capture more light naturally for cleaner photos and Nightography video. The phone also supports Advanced Professional Video, updated Super Steady and built-in AI editing tools.
5. Xiaomi 17 Ultra
Xiaomi 17 Ultra retains a circular camera module with a four-camera Leica system. Its main camera uses a 1-inch-type sensor with variable aperture, supported by 50MP ultrawide, 3x telephoto and 5x periscope cameras.
Xiaomi’s Surge chip handles image processing with Leica-style colour and contrast while minimising shutter lag. An optional Photography Kit adds a case, two-stage shutter button, zoom lever and 67mm filter thread.
6. Google Pixel 10 Pro XL
Google Pixel 10 Pro XL has a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide camera and 48MP 5x optical telephoto camera. Its imaging approach relies on the Tensor G5 chip and a dedicated image signal processor.
Camera Coach offers on-device composition and lighting suggestions. Auto Best Take, Magic Cue, 100x Pro Res Zoom and 8K video through Video Boost expand its computational photography tools.
7. Vivo X300 Pro
Vivo X300 Pro offers a 50MP Sony LYT828 main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera and the same 200MP periscope telephoto camera used by the X300 Ultra. Dual V3+ and VS1 imaging chips support cinematic 4K HDR portrait video recording.
The model is compatible with a 2.35x Zeiss teleconverter. That support gives users a smaller alternative while retaining access to a physical optical accessory.
