Vivo X Fold5 Gets Smarter with OriginOS: Top 5 Key Transformations Revealed

Vivo has officially launched OriginOS globally, a new operating system designed to redefine human-computer interaction in the AI era. This update is now available for Vivo X Fold5 users in Indonesia, delivering a complete transformation to the foldable flagship device experience.

Hadie Mandala, Product Manager of Vivo Indonesia, explained that OriginOS turns the Vivo X Fold5 into a smarter companion. “It enhances productivity and usage comfort, redefining what professionals expect from a foldable device,” he said during the official launch.

Simpler and More Intuitive Interface

OriginOS offers a cleaner, distraction-free user interface that adapts seamlessly between the front and the main foldable screens. This design makes navigation easy whether the screen is folded or open. The Ultra Vision Foldable Screen 2K+ E7 is maximized with a refined layout for immersive visuals.

Dynamic Glow and Translucent Color effects add modern depth and responsive visual feedback throughout the system. The new Vivo Sans font adapts fluidly during app interactions and supports over 40 languages, enhancing readability and visual consistency.

Boosted Productivity for Professionals

Without the need for extra apps, OriginOS introduces Vivo DocMaster, which supports multiple document formats. Users can edit, convert, and manage documents directly on the Vivo X Fold5, including converting PDFs to other file types or images.

Office Kit further integrates the smartphone with Windows and Mac computers. This feature enables wireless file transfers and multi-screen interaction, streamlining workflows for professionals who juggle multiple devices daily. Vivo aims to attract professional users with this strategic update.

Seamless Multitasking Engine

Known for foldable multitasking, the Vivo X Fold5’s experience has been enhanced with OriginOS. Running two apps side-by-side now feels smoother and more natural. The system introduces Origin Workbench, which supports up to five active app windows simultaneously.

This workbench transforms the home screen into an efficient productivity dashboard, ideal for intensive multitasking scenarios. Replacing FuntouchOS, OriginOS offers a new mobile productivity approach tailored to power users.

AI Booster for Optimized Performance

OriginOS integrates AI deeply within the system, learning user habits to optimize responsiveness and battery efficiency. The Origin Smooth Engine uses Ultra-core computing technology to boost app access speeds by 18.5%.

Memory Fusion allows the device to display up to 5,000 photos simultaneously with a 106% speed improvement. The Snap-Up Engine prioritizes chipset performance automatically, while predictive features speed up launching commonly used apps and extend battery life.

When the battery hits 1%, Battery Life Extender mode activates to prevent sudden shutdowns. Even with critically low power, users can still make calls for up to 4 minutes, securing important communications.

Enhanced Personalization and Security

OriginOS redesigns every element with security and personalization in mind. Lock screen and always-on display are now dynamic, while notification controls and privacy settings are tightened.

A standout feature is Private Space, a virtual encrypted area to store private files, photos, and apps. This space stays completely separate from the main interface, providing an additional layer of privacy.

This holistic integration of OriginOS on the Vivo flagship reinforces the brand’s commitment to a cohesive and secure user experience.

The OriginOS update for the Vivo X Fold5 is available in Indonesia starting this month. The device comes in Titanium Gray and Feather White options, priced at approximately $1,650 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version.
