Oppo has officially announced the global rollout of ColorOS 16, coinciding with the launch of the Find X9 Series in Europe on October 29. The update aims to unify design, performance, and AI integration across Oppo’s device ecosystem. The phased update will begin in November 2025, targeting flagship and foldable models first, followed by mid-range phones and tablets through the first quarter of 2026.
The initial rollout in November 2025 includes flagship and foldable devices such as Find N5, Find N3, Find N3 Flip, Find X8 Series, Reno14 Series, Reno13 Series, and the Oppo Pad 3 Pro tablet. In December 2025, more models—like Find N2 Flip, Reno13 F, and K13 Turbo Series—are scheduled to receive ColorOS 16. The update broadens further in early 2026 to cover devices like Find X5 Pro, Reno12 Series, Reno11 Series, Reno10 Pro+ 5G, F31 Series, select K Series models, and Oppo Pad 2 and Pad SE tablets.
Visual Enhancements and Performance Upgrades
ColorOS 16 introduces a new user interface inspired by natural light and shadow interactions. The visuals aim to feel more dynamic and organic, with improved responsiveness in animations to user touch. Oppo implements a Luminous Rendering Engine to maintain smooth visual transitions during multitasking, while the Trinity Engine optimizes power allocation down to the chip level for better CPU efficiency. According to the company, these optimizations boost app launch speeds by 28%, reduce loading times by 21%, and decrease CPU load by 14% during normal use.
Personalization and AI-Powered Camera Features
This update offers expanded customization options, including the ability to set live wallpapers on the lock screen and new fonts. The Always On Display feature now supports full-screen modes. Users can adjust icon and folder sizes flexibly through Flux Home Screen’s auto-layout system. Interactive notifications via Live Alerts can now showcase real-time information from more apps surrounding the front camera area. On the photography front, AI enhances features like AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover. A new feature, AI Portrait Glow, improves lighting and skin tone in low-light selfies.
Cross-Device Synchronization Improvements
Oppo has updated its O+ Connect suite to deepen cross-platform integration. With ColorOS 16, managing notifications, transferring files, and controlling devices across phones, tablets, Windows PCs, and Macs within Oppo’s ecosystem becomes more seamless. This update aligns with Oppo’s vision of providing a smarter, smoother, and more integrated operating system experience across devices.
As the update begins next month, Oppo users with eligible devices can expect a more refined, AI-powered ColorOS version that enhances both usability and visual appeal. Continuous expansion throughout early 2026 will ensure a wider range of Oppo products benefit from this latest software advancement.
