Oppo Reno15’s core specifications have been revealed through a recent Geekbench listing. The smartphone, identified by model PLW110, runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8450 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and Android 16.
This confirms that both the standard and Pro variants of the Reno15 series will share the same Dimensity 8450 processor. Previously, this chipset was also seen on the OPPO Reno 15 Pro’s Geekbench results.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8450, internally known as the MT6899, features a CPU configuration with one prime core clocked at 3.25GHz. It also includes three performance cores running at 3.00GHz and four efficiency cores operating at 2.10GHz.
For graphics processing, the chipset integrates the Mali-G720 MC7 GPU. This combination is designed to deliver solid performance for daily multitasking and gaming needs.
According to a China Telecom listing, Oppo Reno15 will sport a 6.32-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The size and display type aim to balance a compact form factor with vibrant visual quality.
The camera setup is impressive, showcasing a 50MP front camera for high-resolution selfies. The rear configuration reportedly includes two 50MP lenses plus a 200MP main sensor, promising detailed and versatile photography options.
Internal storage is expected to reach up to 1TB, which supports users requiring extensive space for apps, media, and files. The device also houses a large 6,200mAh battery with 80W fast charging capability to reduce downtime.
Oppo Reno15’s software will feature the new ColorOS 16 interface based on Android. Additional hardware highlights include an under-display fingerprint sensor, an aluminum mid-frame for durability, and IP68/IP69 certification for dust and water resistance.
The Reno15 series will come in two versions, with the Pro variant having a larger 6.78-inch display. The Pro model also upgrades to a 6,300mAh battery and supports 50W wireless charging along with the 80W wired fast charge.
Though both standard and Pro models share the same 200MP main camera resolution, sensor differences may exist to distinguish imaging quality. Oppo’s move to equip both with the Dimensity 8450 chipset indicates a focus on consistent performance across the series.
This approach contrasts with previous trends where the Pro variant typically used a higher-tier processor. Initial rumors suggesting a Dimensity 8500 for the Pro model have been disproven by these findings.
Oppo has scheduled the official launch of the Reno15 series for November 17, 2024, in China. The frequent appearances of the phone on performance benchmarks and operator listings signal that its release is imminent.
With these robust specifications, Oppo Reno15 is poised to compete strongly in the mid-range to high-end market segment. It appeals to users who want top-tier performance, advanced camera features, and long battery life.
Consumers and tech enthusiasts now await more details from Oppo on pricing and global availability. The November launch event should clarify the full feature set and marketing strategy for the new Reno15 lineup.
