Ahead of its official launch on November 24, the full specifications of the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro have leaked online. The upcoming smartphones show notable improvements in camera quality, performance, and battery endurance, confirming and expanding on previous teasers.
Both devices boast a high-resolution 6.55-inch OLED LTPS flat display with a 1.5K resolution (1264 × 2736 pixels) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screens also feature 3840Hz PWM dimming technology, designed to reduce eye strain during low-brightness use.
Durability and Design
Honor continues its focus on build quality by incorporating a metal frame and stereo dual speakers in both models. They achieve robust protection by meeting IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, guarding against dust, water splashes, and high-pressure sprays—ensuring durability in extreme conditions.
Camera Technology
The standard Honor 500 impresses with a primary 200MP camera equipped with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, coupled with a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP front-facing camera. This combination aims to deliver highly detailed photos and rich imaging versatility.
The Honor 500 Pro differentiates itself by adding a 50MP telephoto camera featuring a Sony IMX856 sensor, supporting 3x optical zoom. This telephoto lens broadens photographic possibilities, appealing to users who seek enhanced zoom capabilities.
Performance and Chipsets
Inside, the Honor 500 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, which promises energy efficiency and advanced AI processing features. Meanwhile, the Honor 500 Pro is believed to come with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, targeting users demanding top-tier performance.
Although RAM and storage configurations have not been officially revealed, experts predict that Honor will offer generous memory options to complement the flagship-level processing power.
Battery and Charging
Both variants carry a large 8,000 mAh battery, placing them among the premium segment’s highest capacity phones. They support fast wired charging at 80W for quick power top-ups.
The Pro model also adds 50W wireless charging capability and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Conversely, the regular Honor 500 is likely to maintain an optical fingerprint sensor.
Expected Pricing and Availability
Honor plans to officially unveil these smartphones on November 24, along with detailed pricing and availability information. Industry analysts estimate prices approximately as follows:
- Honor 500: Around CNY 2,499 to 2,999 (equivalent to about $350 to $420 USD)
- Honor 500 Pro: Around CNY 3,499 to 3,999 (equivalent to about $490 to $560 USD)
The final price and release dates will be confirmed during the launch event.
These leaks indicate Honor’s commitment to delivering strong competition in the mid-to-high-end smartphone market. The combination of a cutting-edge 200MP camera, powerful Snapdragon processors, and a notably large battery could position the Honor 500 series as attractive choices for tech enthusiasts.
