OPPO Find X9 Review: Powerful Flagship with Massive 7025mAh Battery Performance

OPPO has launched the Find X9, targeting the flagship segment with a price around $860. This model offers significant upgrades from its predecessor, the Find X8, which was well received in Indonesia. Key highlights include the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, a large 7025mAh battery, and Hasselblad triple 50MP cameras, aiming to maintain OPPO’s strong market position.

The design of the Find X9 marks a shift from the Find X8, featuring a rectangular camera module instead of a large circular one. The triple-camera layout, including a periscope zoom lens, is arranged in two large and one smaller circle. This design resembles OPPO’s Reno series but still projects a premium feel with a glass back, metal frame, and a compact 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with slim bezels.

Display and Build

The Find X9 includes a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 95.4% screen-to-body ratio and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, providing vivid and sharp visuals. It supports high brightness levels for outdoor visibility but lacks the LTPO technology found in the Pro variant, limiting the refresh rate adjustment from 60Hz instead of as low as 1Hz. The phone uses Gorilla Glass 7i for screen protection, a solid though slightly midrange choice compared to the Pro’s Victus 2.

The phone’s size strikes a balance, making it comfortable to hold without feeling too large or small. OPPO’s attention to materials and ergonomics retains a flagship feel despite the design changes.

Software Experience with ColorOS 16

OPPO’s ColorOS 16 runs smoothly on Find X9, offering refined animations and playful visual effects. The interface includes liquid glass effects on the calculator and light animations in utility apps like compass and inclinometer. The iconography and wallpapers draw inspiration from iOS, with features like the Snap Key button sporting colorful lighting effects similar to Siri.

This Snap Key, located on the left side, activates Mindspace by default—an AI-powered personal assistant that can save, summarize, and analyze content from articles or webpages. Voice input for notes and automatic calendar integration for dates enhance productivity. The Snap Key also offers customizable shortcuts, although it currently doesn’t support launching custom apps.

Performance and Battery Life

Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip built on a 3nm process delivers flagship-level performance with AnTuTu scores of up to 3.3 million on version 11. The Find X9 is available with 12GB or 16GB RAM and UFS 4.1 storage options of 256GB or 512GB, ensuring fast and smooth multitasking.

The most notable hardware improvement is the battery, expanding to 7025mAh from the previous model’s 5600mAh. This large capacity translates to longer usage without frequent charging, which is a significant benefit for heavy users and gamers.

Photography with Hasselblad Collaboration

Photography is a highlight with a triple 50MP camera setup co-engineered with Hasselblad. The system delivers bright, balanced colors without oversaturation, maintaining realism and vibrancy. The periscope zoom lens offers 3x optical zoom with detailed images, while an additional sensor beneath the ultrawide lens measures ambient lighting and color temperature to boost photo accuracy.

Selfie videos support 4K at 60fps, featuring smooth stabilization and decent dynamic range. The autofocus system prioritizes facial tracking, making it ideal for content creators and vloggers.

The OPPO Find X9 presents a compelling package combining flagship performance, advanced camera capabilities, and exceptionally long battery life. While there are some compromises compared to the Pro model, such as the non-LTPO screen and slightly lower glass protection, the Find X9 justifies its price with strong hardware and a polished software experience. This device is clearly designed to appeal to users seeking a premium phone with great endurance and capable multimedia features.
