Hisense has officially launched the Hisense 27GX, a Mini LED monitor designed to meet the diverse needs of gamers, professionals, and multimedia consumers. Priced at 4,399 yuan (approximately $622), this new monitor integrates high-performance display technology with smart TV features typically found in premium televisions.
The Hisense 27GX features a Fast IPS panel combined with a Mini LED backlight composed of 2,304 local dimming zones. This setup allows for extremely precise light control and delivers a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, meeting the HDR1400 standard. Such specifications position it as one of the brightest Mini LED monitors available in its category. Moreover, the monitor employs Obsidian Screen technology with a dual-layer nano coating that reduces reflectivity to just 1.8%, along with a 33% enhancement in black level performance.
This monitor supports two flexible refresh rate modes: 4K resolution at 160Hz for rich visual detail, and 1080p at 320Hz to cater to gamers who prioritize fast frame rates. The panel produces 10-bit color (8+FRC) and has wide color gamut coverage including 99% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3, and 100% Adobe RGB. Each unit undergoes factory calibration yielding an impressive Delta E of less than 1, ensuring accurate and consistent color reproduction.
Advanced Processing and AI Features
At the core of the Hisense 27GX is the MediaTek 9655 processor, also used in Hisense’s high-end smart TVs. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, enabling smooth operation of AI-powered enhancements. These include AI Super Resolution, AI Picture Quality optimization, Dynamic Black Frame Insertion for motion clarity, MEMC motion compensation, and 16-bit DC dimming to reduce screen flicker.
Unlike typical gaming monitors, the 27GX runs a built-in smart TV operating system, allowing users to access multimedia content seamlessly. It supports voice control and offers four screen modes: Standard, Kids, Seniors, and Education. This versatility makes it ideal for different user groups. The audio experience is enhanced by two 5W speakers tuned by the renowned Golden Ear team, featuring Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision IQ support for immersive sound and picture quality.
Design and Connectivity
The Hisense 27GX sports a Glacier White finish and an ergonomic stand that allows tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments, improving user comfort during long sessions. VESA 75x75mm mounting support is also included. For efficient power delivery, the monitor uses a GaN-based power adapter.
Connectivity options are comprehensive, including two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, one USB-C port with 90W power delivery, two USB-A ports, a USB-B upstream port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Users also benefit from KVM switch functionality, which simplifies controlling multiple connected devices with a single set of peripherals.
Competitive Landscape
Hisense’s entry positions the 27GX strongly in the premium Mini LED monitor market, which is also seeing activity from other brands. Innocn recently launched the GA27V1M and GA32V1M models, both 4K displays with 2,304 local dimming zones. Meanwhile, KTC introduced the Master 27M1 Plus, a 2K IPS panel monitor capable of 400Hz refresh rates, targeting competitive gamers.
By blending cutting-edge Mini LED technology with smart TV capabilities and AI-powered image enhancements, the Hisense 27GX offers a multifunctional display that bridges gaming, productivity, and entertainment needs. It marks a notable advancement in monitor design, appealing to users who seek more than just a traditional gaming screen.
