Leaked Details Reveal New Features of Samsung’s Latest Foldable Z Fold and Z Flip Models

Samsung is gearing up to launch the next generation of its foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, likely slated for release in July 2026. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 only debuted around July 2025 and remain fresh in markets like Indonesia, early leaks reveal notable upgrades that could redefine Samsung’s foldable lineup.

Galaxy Z Fold 8: Enhanced Camera System

The most significant update for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lies in its camera setup. According to GalaxyClub, a reputable Dutch source known for accurate Samsung leaks, the Fold 8 will keep its main camera at 200 megapixels and its front selfie shooter at 10 megapixels, consistent with its predecessor. However, the telephoto camera is expected to improve from 10 MP to 12 MP, featuring 3x optical zoom, which should markedly boost image quality for distant subjects.

Moreover, Samsung plans to equip the Fold 8 with a new generation of sensors similar to those launched on the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra. The ultrawide camera resolution is rumored to jump from 12 MP to 50 MP, matching the Galaxy S25 Ultra. These enhancements suggest sharper, more detailed photos with improved low-light performance, catering especially to professionals who use their foldable phones for photography and productivity.

Galaxy Z Flip 8: New Chipset and Slimmer Design

On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to receive a powertrain revamp by adopting Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chipset, built on a 2-nanometer process. This would mark a first for the Z Flip series, which traditionally uses Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The Exynos 2600 has been touted for better power efficiency and substantial performance improvements, making it suitable for daily multitasking and intensive applications.

Samsung is also rumored to reduce the thickness of the Z Flip 8’s body. Although exact measurements remain undisclosed, the current Z Flip 7 measures around 6.5 mm when unfolded. If Samsung successfully thins the Flip 8 without compromising hinge durability or battery life, it could lead the foldable market with an ultra-compact design.

Release Timing and Final Notes

Both models are expected to launch around mid-2026, adhering to Samsung’s established yearly schedule for foldable phone releases. Despite these leaks, Samsung has not confirmed any specifications or launch dates officially, meaning details could still evolve before the final announcements.

For now, enthusiasts and potential buyers can look forward to substantial camera upgrades in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the introduction of a novel chipset combined with a potentially slimmer design in the Galaxy Z Flip 8. These developments hint at Samsung’s continued commitment to pushing innovation in the global foldable phone market.
