Oppo has officially launched its Oppo Pad 5 tablet in India, expanding its product lineup after the recent Reno 15 series release. The device caters to users needing a large display for productivity, longer battery life, and modern connectivity options, including 5G support. Although sharing the same name as the Chinese model, the Indian variant features distinct hardware configurations tailored to local market needs.
The Oppo Pad 5 is equipped with a 12.1-inch LCD screen offering a 2.8K resolution (2800 x 1980 pixels) and a 7:5 aspect ratio. It supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision technology, delivering clear and vibrant visuals. Its screen brightness can reach up to 900 nits in high brightness mode, and a matte anti-glare coating helps reduce eye strain during extended use, improving comfort for reading and note-taking.
Under the hood, the tablet runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options up to 256GB. It operates on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, featuring AI-powered note-taking capabilities designed to boost organization and workflow efficiency in daily tasks.
For photography and video calls, the Oppo Pad 5 has an 8-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, both equipped with f/2.0 apertures. The device excels in battery capacity with a 10,050mAh battery supporting 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. This enables all-day usage with relatively quick recharge times, making it reliable for prolonged productivity sessions.
The tablet delivers an immersive audio experience through its quad-speaker setup. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and an optional 5G variant for faster network speeds. Additionally, Oppo Pad 5 supports the Oppo Pencil 2R stylus, which offers 4,096 pressure sensitivity levels and low latency, enhancing its suitability for writing and drawing tasks.
Oppo Pad 5 is offered in two colors: Aurora Pink and Starlight Black. It comes in two variants:
1. Wi-Fi only: 8GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at approximately $300 (Rs 26,999).
2. 5G enabled: 8GB RAM and 256GB storage priced around $365 (Rs 32,999).
Official sales began on January 13 through Oppo India’s online store, Flipkart, and offline retail outlets. Launch promotions include instant bank discounts of Rs 2,000 and interest-free installment plans lasting up to nine months, aiming to provide attractive purchase options.
With its high-resolution display, 120Hz refresh rate, powerful Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor, and large battery capacity, the Oppo Pad 5 stands out as a versatile Android tablet. The addition of 5G connectivity and stylus support further emphasizes its role as a productive and entertainment device suitable for work, study, and creative activities in the Indian market.
