Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Launches, Slim AI Laptops With AMOLED And Intel Core Ultra

Samsung has officially expanded its premium laptop lineup in India with the Galaxy Book 6 series, introducing the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and Galaxy Book 6. The new family pushes a clear message: thinner bodies, AMOLED displays on the higher models, and Intel Core Ultra processors with built-in AI support.

The launch also shows how Samsung wants its laptops to work more closely with its phone and tablet ecosystem. With Windows 11 Home, Samsung Knox security, and a set of Galaxy AI features, the Galaxy Book 6 series aims at users who want portability, performance, and cross-device convenience in one machine.

A thinner design with a new cooling approach

Samsung says it redesigned the internal layout to improve thermal efficiency without making the laptop bulkier. The company uses a larger vapor chamber, thinner fans, and a revised hinge structure to help keep temperatures under control.

The result is a more compact build that still targets high performance workloads. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra measures 15.4 mm thick, while the 16-inch Galaxy Book 6 Pro goes even slimmer at 11.9 mm.

All three models come with a two-tone backlit keyboard. The Ultra and Pro also get a haptic touchpad for more precise input, while the standard Galaxy Book 6 uses a traditional clickpad.

AMOLED remains the main selling point

Display quality is one of the strongest differentiators in the new lineup. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra uses a 16-inch touchscreen AMOLED panel with WQXGA+ resolution at 2880 x 1800 pixels and peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

The Galaxy Book 6 Pro is available in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, both with touchscreen AMOLED displays and an anti-reflective coating. The base Galaxy Book 6 uses a 1920 x 1200 IPS display with 350 nits of brightness.

Samsung says the AMOLED panels on the Ultra and Pro support an adaptive refresh rate from 30Hz to 120Hz. They also carry Vision Booster, True Bright certification, and Gorilla Glass DXC protection to reduce glare and improve outdoor visibility.

Performance centers on Intel Core Ultra and AI acceleration

Samsung equips the entire Galaxy Book 6 range with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors based on the Intel Evo platform. Buyers can choose from Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7, and X7 options, with up to 16 CPU cores depending on the model.

Each chip includes an NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS, which Samsung positions as a key feature for on-device AI tasks. That level of AI acceleration matters for users who want faster image processing, smarter search tools, and lower reliance on cloud-based computing.

The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra goes further with a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU and 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. That makes it the most powerful option in the lineup and the most suitable for creators, gamers, and professionals who need extra graphics headroom.

The Pro models rely on Intel Arc or integrated graphics, while the standard Galaxy Book 6 uses Intel Graphics. The performance spread is clear, and Samsung appears to be balancing thinness with flexibility across different price levels.

Memory and storage options stay generous

Samsung gives the Ultra model up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD, with support for expansion. That configuration targets users who work with large files, editing tools, or multiple demanding applications at once.

The Galaxy Book 6 Pro offers 16GB or 32GB of RAM and SSD options of 512GB or 1TB. Expansion is available on the 16-inch version, which should help buyers who expect future storage needs to grow.

The standard Galaxy Book 6 also supports up to 32GB of RAM and similar storage choices. This keeps the base model competitive for students, office users, and everyday multitaskers.

Battery life and charging vary by model

Battery capacity differs across the lineup, and Samsung pairs each model with a suitable charging rate. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra includes an 80.2Wh battery and fast charging up to 140W on the discrete GPU version.

Samsung says that setup can reach 63% in 30 minutes, which is useful for users who travel often and need quick top-ups during packed workdays. The Galaxy Book 6 Pro comes with a 67.18Wh battery for the 14-inch model and a 78.07Wh battery for the 16-inch model, both with 65W charging.

The standard Galaxy Book 6 uses a 61.2Wh battery with 45W charging. Samsung claims all three models can last up to 30 hours of video playback under normal use, though real-world results will depend on brightness, workload, and connectivity.

Audio, camera, and connectivity focus on productivity

Samsung gives the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra a six-speaker system with Dolby Atmos, made up of four woofers and two tweeters. The 16-inch Pro model uses four speakers, while the rest of the range relies on stereo speakers.

All three models include a dual-array microphone setup and a 1080p webcam. That combination should support video calls, online meetings, and hybrid work routines with minimal fuss.

Connectivity is also strong across the lineup. The Ultra and Pro offer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, while the standard model switches to Wi-Fi 6E.

The port selection includes Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, USB-A, USB-C, microSD, and a headphone jack. The standard Galaxy Book 6 even keeps an RJ45 port, which may appeal to users who still prefer wired networking in offices or labs.

Galaxy AI features and Windows integration

Samsung ships the new laptops with Windows 11 Home and Samsung Knox security. The company also adds several AI-based tools designed to make daily tasks more efficient and familiar across connected Galaxy devices.

  1. AI Select
  2. AI Cut Out
  3. Note Assist
  4. Natural language search

These tools reflect Samsung’s broader strategy of making AI feel practical instead of experimental. They work alongside cross-device functions such as Multi Control, Second Screen, Link to Windows, and Storage Sharing.

That ecosystem approach is one of the series’ biggest advantages for users who already own Galaxy phones, tablets, or earbuds. Samsung wants the laptop to feel less like a standalone PC and more like part of a connected workflow.

Pricing and launch details in India

Samsung is selling the Galaxy Book 6 series in gray and silver. In India, pricing starts at Rs. 1,27,990 for the Galaxy Book 6, Rs. 1,78,990 for the Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and Rs. 2,42,990 for the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage.

Converted roughly, that places the lineup at about $1,540, $2,160, and $2,930, respectively, based on current exchange rates. Samsung also offers launch incentives, including no-cost EMI for up to 24 months, cashback of up to Rs. 5,000 for the Ultra and Pro models, and student discounts of up to 10%.

The Galaxy Book 6 series enters a competitive premium laptop market with a clear identity: thin designs, premium AMOLED displays on the higher models, Intel Core Ultra AI hardware, and Samsung’s cross-device software stack. For buyers who want a Windows laptop that feels closely tied to a Galaxy ecosystem, this launch gives Samsung a stronger position in the AI PC segment.
