Galaxy S26 Brings Text-Based AI Photo Editing, Blanketing Samsung’s New Flagship Lineup

Samsung is giving its photo editing tools a notable upgrade on the Galaxy S26 series with AI Eraser Create, a feature that lets users modify images using simple text prompts. Instead of relying on manual tools and layered menus, the editing process is framed around natural language commands that can remove distractions, add new visual elements, or change the mood of a picture.

The feature sits under Photo Assist and is designed to make image editing feel faster and more intuitive. Samsung says the AI system can understand everyday instructions, which lowers the barrier for users who want quick edits without opening a separate app or learning complex controls.

Text-based editing becomes the main workflow

AI Eraser Create works by asking the user to type a short command. In testing by KompasTekno, the feature also accepted instructions in Indonesian, including examples such as “hapus orang di belakang,” “tambahkan kembang api,” and “ubah langit jadi sunset.”

That approach shows how Samsung is positioning the tool for natural use, not just technical experimentation. A user can enter a request, then let the system process the image so the result matches the context of the photo.

Designed to keep edits looking natural

Speed is only one part of the update, because Samsung also emphasizes visual consistency in the final image. The system automatically adjusts lighting, shadows, and color so the edited photo does not look unnatural or overly artificial.

That matters for AI-based editing, where mismatched details can easily make the result stand out. By handling those adjustments automatically, Samsung aims to keep the edited image blended with the original elements already in the frame.

The feature’s main functions include:

  1. Removing people or objects that disturb the composition.
  2. Adding visual elements that were not captured by the camera.
  3. Changing the background, including sky conditions and the overall atmosphere of the photo.
  4. Adjusting lighting, shadows, and color automatically.
  5. Saving the edited result without needing an additional app.

Available across the full Galaxy S26 lineup

Samsung is not limiting this capability to only one premium model in the family. AI Eraser Create is said to be available on the entire Galaxy S26 series, making the feature accessible to more users from the start.

That decision suggests Samsung wants AI-powered editing to become a standard part of the flagship experience, rather than a perk reserved for a specific variant. It also places visual productivity alongside camera performance as a core value of the series.

Transparency remains part of the process

Samsung also adds an automatic watermark reading “AI generated content” to photos that have been modified. The label is stored in the file metadata as well, so the origin of the image can still be tracked even after it is shared on social media.

This adds a clear distinction between an original photo and one that has been processed by AI. As generative AI becomes more common in consumer devices, that kind of transparency is increasingly important for both users and technology makers.

With text-driven editing, automatic visual adjustments, and an AI marker built into the file, the Galaxy S26 series places photo editing into a more direct and accessible format. Samsung is making the feature easier to use while still keeping the edited result identifiable as AI-assisted content.
