Oppo is shaping the Find X9 Ultra as more than another high-end Android phone. The device is being presented with a strong camera-first identity, backed by a design language that borrows heavily from Hasselblad-inspired cues and a hardware package built to stand out on its own.
That direction is already visible in the first official details Oppo has shared. Rather than aiming for a safe, generic flagship look, the Find X9 Ultra uses classic leather, a sharp metal frame, and orange accents to create a more deliberate premium impression, one that recalls the styling of the Hasselblad X2D.
A design built around photography
The rear camera module is large and impossible to ignore, and that is clearly part of the point. Oppo appears to want the Find X9 Ultra to be seen as a device where imaging is the main identity, not just an added feature hidden inside a thin smartphone body.
For some users, the camera housing may look excessive, but it matches the phone’s overall purpose. The design language suggests that Oppo is trying to make the Find X9 Ultra feel like a pocketable imaging tool, with visual seriousness extending beyond the spec sheet.
Two 200MP cameras take center stage
The biggest confirmed hardware detail is the imaging system. Oppo has revealed that the Find X9 Ultra will carry four lenses covering a 14-230mm focal range, along with two 200MP cameras and a 50MP telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom.
That combination places the phone in a highly competitive position among premium camera flagships. Oppo has also described the setup as the “Hasselblad Master Camera System,” underscoring how central the collaboration is to the product’s camera identity.
The presence of dual 200MP sensors is especially notable because it signals a strong focus on both flexibility and detail. Combined with the telephoto hardware, the system aims to give the Find X9 Ultra a broader imaging range than a typical flagship phone.
Extra accessories extend the camera concept
Oppo is not stopping at the built-in camera package. The company is also preparing an accessory called the “Earth Explorer kit,” which is said to be inspired by the limited-edition Hasselblad X2D II.
There is also an optional 400mm telephoto lens accessory designed to go beyond the phone’s native 10x optical zoom. That addition indicates Oppo is thinking beyond conventional smartphone photography and toward a more expandable camera ecosystem.
The accessory strategy adds another layer to the Find X9 Ultra’s positioning. It suggests that Oppo wants the phone to appeal not only to buyers who care about flagship specifications, but also to users who want more reach and more creative flexibility from a mobile device.
A direct challenge in the premium camera segment
The Find X9 Ultra arrives in a market where camera performance already plays a decisive role in flagship competition. Oppo’s previous Find X8 Ultra was said to outperform several rivals, including the iPhone Pro Max and Galaxy Ultra, although that model was limited to China.
If the new model delivers the leap Oppo is hinting at, it could strengthen the brand’s standing in the premium camera phone category. The combination of a distinctive body design, dual 200MP cameras, 10x optical zoom, and additional photography accessories gives the Find X9 Ultra a clear message: this phone is being built to be judged first by its camera.
Teasers have also shown an orange color variant and the slogan “Your next camera.” That phrasing makes the positioning even clearer, since Oppo is not only promoting megapixels or zoom numbers, but a complete photography experience built into a smartphone form factor.
The full unveiling is scheduled for 21 April, and Oppo is still holding back the remaining details. From what has already been shown, the Find X9 Ultra is emerging as one of the company’s most serious attempts yet to turn a flagship phone into a true camera-centered device.
