That signal matters because the first iPhone Air has been described as underwhelming in the market, with its price sitting between the standard iPhone lineup and the Pro models without delivering a strong enough reason to stand out.
Apple appears to be treating iPhone Air as a long-term experiment
The direction of the rumor suggests Apple may still see room for an ultra-thin iPhone line to develop into its own product tier. Instead of folding the project after a difficult debut, the company appears willing to give the concept more time to mature.
