Weak Signal in the Bedroom, IndiHome Ultra Mesh Extends a Single Seamless Network Across the Home

Author: Qoo Media

A weak signal that seems to appear only after moving into a bedroom usually points to uneven WiFi coverage inside the home. In that kind of setup, IndiHome Ultra Mesh WiFi from Telkomsel is positioned as an option that helps spread connectivity more evenly across more rooms.

The service is meant for homes with thick walls, many partitions, or multiple floors. It is also available for both new and existing IndiHome customers, making it relevant when a single router no longer reaches every corner of the house.

One network, not multiple separate connections

IndiHome Ultra Mesh WiFi uses a centralized network concept with a single SSID. That means devices stay on the same network while moving from the living room to a bedroom, without needing to switch WiFi manually.

This experience is known as seamless roaming. Telkomsel says the service is designed to help deliver more even signals to different parts of the house, including multi-storey homes and areas with more physical barriers.

Unlike a conventional router or a standard WiFi extender, mesh functions as one interconnected system. That setup is intended to keep the connection more consistent, especially when several devices are active at the same time.

Two service schemes are available

Telkomsel offers two service models for IndiHome Ultra Mesh WiFi. The first is the Hard Bundle Internet + Mesh Wi-Fi, which is aimed at new IndiHome customers.

This bundle includes IndiHome internet and 1 Mesh device in a single package. Prices start at Rp285.000 per month, with speed options of 75, 100, 150, and 200 Mbps.

Under the hard bundle scheme, the Mesh installation fee is waived when IndiHome is installed. Customers only pay the IndiHome installation fee, while the Mesh device follows a rental scheme managed by Telkomsel.

The second option is the Ultra Mesh Wi-Fi Add-On for active IndiHome customers. This service allows the addition of up to 3 Mesh devices depending on the size of the home and the coverage needed.

For the add-on package, the rental fee is Rp35.000 per month per device, excluding VAT. There is also a one-time installation fee of Rp65.000, with technicians handling the installation in one visit for multiple devices.

Why mesh feels different from an extender

Mesh is built to address a common issue seen with standard WiFi extenders. In many extender setups, users still need to move between access points manually.

With mesh, the device remains within one network, so the transition between rooms is less disruptive. This model is useful for video meetings, online learning, streaming, and households where multiple devices stay connected at once.

By spreading the signal more evenly, mesh can reduce connection issues in specific areas without requiring several separate networks. That makes it a more practical approach for homes where signal loss becomes noticeable only after moving farther from the router.

Ordering and compatibility notes

IndiHome Ultra Mesh WiFi can be ordered through GraPARI or official IndiHome sales partners. For the add-on service, the Mesh device can only be used if the ONT supports Mesh technology.

That compatibility requirement matters because device support plays a key role in how well the network works. For homes where WiFi often drops after entering a bedroom, a mesh setup offers a cleaner alternative to placing extra transmitters separately around the house.

By keeping everything on a single connected network, IndiHome Ultra Mesh WiFi is aimed at delivering a more stable and evenly distributed home internet experience, while reducing the need to switch networks from one room to another.
