Redmi K90 Max Debuts With Dimensity 9500, Built-In Cooling Fan, And 8,500mAh Battery

Redmi K90 Max takes a very different route from phones that prioritize thinness or camera branding. The device is positioned for heavy use, with a focus on sustained performance, active cooling, and a battery large enough to support long sessions without constant charging.

At the center of that approach is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, backed by LPDDR5X RAM of up to 16GB and internal storage reaching 1TB using UFS 4.1. Redmi also adds Xiaomi’s D2 graphics chip, while the company claims the phone has scored 4,161,374 on AnTuTu v11, underscoring its performance-first identity.

Cooling gets unusual attention

One of the most distinctive hardware choices is the built-in cooling fan. Redmi pairs it with a 6,000mm2 vapor chamber to help keep temperatures under control when the phone is pushed hard.

The company says this cooling setup can reduce internal temperatures by up to 10 degrees. Even with that active system inside, the phone still carries strong protection against dust and water.

Built for durability as well as power

Redmi K90 Max comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 certification. That level of resistance is notable because active cooling often raises concerns about long-term durability, yet Redmi is clearly trying to balance both.

The result is a device that aims to bridge gaming-style hardware with everyday practicality. It is meant to handle demanding workloads while still offering reassurance in less forgiving conditions.

Large display, fast refresh rate

On the front, the phone uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,722 x 1,280 pixels. The display supports 12-bit color and a 165Hz refresh rate, which should make motion look especially smooth.

The panel is manufactured by TCL and uses M10 luminous technology. Redmi says peak local brightness can reach 3,500 nits, and the screen also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

A 20MP front camera sits inside a punch-hole cutout, keeping the display layout clean and modern. That design choice fits the phone’s overall focus on a large, uninterrupted viewing area.

Battery life is another headline feature

The biggest attention grabber may be the 8,500mAh Si-C battery. That capacity is unusually large for a mainstream smartphone and clearly targets users who want extended runtime.

Charging is equally aggressive, with support for 100W wired charging. The phone also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging and bypass charging, which can be useful when gaming while plugged in.

Camera, audio, and software

The rear camera setup is simple but focused. Redmi uses a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.55-inch Light Hunter 800 sensor and OIS, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera based on the OV08F sensor.

For audio, the phone includes stereo speakers tuned by Bose. On the software side, it runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0.

Colors and pricing in China

Redmi K90 Max is available in black, blue, and silver. In China, the announced pricing is 12GB/256GB at CNY 3,199 and 16GB/1TB at CNY 4,699.

Open sales in China have already started, but Xiaomi has not revealed any global launch plans for the model. For now, the phone stands out as a clear statement piece for users who value raw performance, active cooling, and long battery endurance over slimness-focused design.
