Oppo has expanded its tablet lineup in China with two new flagship models, Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini. The pair is built around the same premium positioning, but each one targets a different kind of user, from those who want a large working canvas to those who prefer a compact device for easier mobility.
The strategy is clear: one model focuses on productivity and immersive content consumption, while the other keeps the same high-end direction in a smaller body. Both tablets also share a similar rear design, with a capsule-shaped camera module that holds the main camera and an LED flash.
Big-screen performance with Pad 5 Pro
Pad 5 Pro sits at the top of the new lineup and uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, making it the more powerful option of the two. Oppo pairs the chipset with up to 16 GB of RAM and as much as 512 GB of internal storage, a combination aimed at multitasking and demanding workloads.
Its 13.2-inch display gives the tablet a broad viewing area. The panel carries a 3,392 x 2,400 pixel resolution, an adaptive refresh rate from 30 Hz to 144 Hz, and a peak brightness level of 1,000 nits.
Those specifications place Pad 5 Pro in a position suited for entertainment, reading, and visually intensive work. Oppo also adds support for Oppo Pencil 3 and a magnetic keyboard, which gives the device a more hybrid role.
Pad Mini keeps premium specs in a smaller form
Pad Mini takes a different route by shrinking the footprint without dropping into a lower class of hardware. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and can be configured with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
The screen measures 8.8 inches and uses a 2,520 x 1,680 pixel resolution. Oppo also includes an adaptive refresh rate from 40 Hz to 144 Hz, which should help keep scrolling and animations smooth despite the smaller size.
This model is aimed at users who want flagship-level tablets but do not want to carry a large device. Its more compact dimensions make it the more portable choice in the new pair.
Shared camera and battery setup
Oppo keeps the camera arrangement identical on both tablets. Each model includes a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera.
Battery capacity is where the two clearly diverge. Pad 5 Pro uses a 13,380 mAh battery, while Pad Mini is equipped with an 8,000 mAh cell. Even so, both support 67 W fast charging, so Oppo has kept charging speed consistent across the lineup.
Software, connectivity, and color options
Both tablets ship with Android 16 and ColorOS 16. Connectivity support also matches, with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 included for modern wireless use.
Oppo gives the two models different color palettes as well. Pad 5 Pro comes in Gold, Brown, and Purple, while Pad Mini is available in Space Gray, Purple, and Green.
Pricing in China
According to GSM Arena, Oppo Pad 5 Pro starts at 4,299 yuan for the 8/256 GB version, while the 16/512 GB variant is priced at 5,499 yuan. Pad Mini begins at 3,699 yuan for the 8/256 GB model, and the 12/512 GB configuration is listed at 4,499 yuan.
With these two releases, Oppo now offers a clearer split between a larger premium tablet for productivity and media work, and a smaller flagship option for users who value portability without giving up high-end hardware.
