Vivo Sets May 6 India Debut for X300 Ultra and X300 FE, Zeiss Imaging and Large Batteries Lead the Pitch

Vivo is set to broaden its X300 lineup in India with two very different phones on 6 May at 12 pm IST. The company has already confirmed the launch through X and an official India microsite, which also reveals the designs, color options, and key features of both devices.

The new pair consists of the Vivo X300 Ultra and Vivo X300 FE, following the earlier arrival of the Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro in the market. Together, they show a split strategy: one model is positioned for users who want a slimmer and more versatile phone, while the other is built for a more advanced camera-first experience.

Vivo X300 FE focuses on compact design and strong endurance

Among the two, the Vivo X300 FE is the more compact option. It comes in Lilac Purple, Noir Black, and Urban Olive, and Vivo says the phone measures 7.99 mm thick while weighing 191 grams.

The device also uses an AG finish, which is intended to make the grip more comfortable. Under the hood, the India variant is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Battery capacity is another major highlight. The X300 FE packs a 6,500mAh battery and supports 90W wired charging along with 40W wireless charging.

Zeiss-tuned cameras headline the FE model

Camera hardware is clearly one of the FE’s main selling points. Vivo has equipped the phone with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main camera, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 110-degree field of view.

The front camera also receives serious attention. Vivo has placed a 50-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera on the front, tuned by Zeiss and offering a 90-degree field of view for selfies and video calls.

The imaging features include Zeiss multifocal portrait modes, adaptive zoom flash, and a street photography mode. Vivo has also confirmed support for the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 in India for the X300 FE, which provides a 200mm equivalent focal length and weighs 153 grams.

X300 Ultra is the more ambitious photography model

The Vivo X300 Ultra is aimed at users who want a more serious imaging setup. Its design draws from a camera-inspired look, with knurled texture and a split-finish treatment, and it will be sold in Eclipse Black and Victory Green.

On the back, Vivo uses a Zeiss Master Lenses system with several focal lengths for different shooting needs. The setup includes a 14mm 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a Sony Lytia 818 sensor, a 35mm 200-megapixel documentary camera with a Sony LYTIA 901 sensor, and an 85mm 200-megapixel APO telephoto camera with gimbal-style stabilization.

Vivo is also offering external telephoto lens support for this model. The Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 comes in 200mm and 400mm variants, uses a Kepler optical structure, and supports advanced stabilization.

For users looking for a more camera-like setup, Vivo will sell a Photographer Kit. The package includes a telephoto lens, an imaging grip with a 2300mAh battery, a tripod collar ring, a strap, and mounting accessories.

Video, performance, and long-term support

The X300 Ultra is not limited to still photography. Vivo says the phone supports 4K recording at 120fps with Dolby Vision, 10-bit log video, and ACES integration for more professional work.

Its video tools also include multi-focal slow-motion, time-lapse, and 60fps autofocus tracking for fast-moving subjects. For performance, the India version runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and uses a 6,600mAh battery.

Charging support is rated at 100W wired and 40W wireless, while a large vapour chamber is included to help manage heat under heavy workloads. Vivo has also confirmed five years of OS updates and seven years of security updates, which adds a long-term support angle to the Ultra.

With these two models, Vivo is separating the X300 series into distinct roles. The X300 FE leans on a slim body, large battery, and a versatile Zeiss camera system, while the X300 Ultra pushes further into advanced imaging and video with dedicated accessories to extend its photography capabilities.
