Oppo Watch X3 Mini Debuts With Compact Body, Sapphire AMOLED Display and eSIM Support

Oppo has expanded its smartwatch lineup in China with the launch of the Watch X3 Mini, a smaller alternative to the Watch X3 that still keeps many of the brand’s premium features. The model is aimed at users who want a more compact watch without giving up smartphone-style connectivity, health tracking, and a polished design.

The Watch X3 Mini stands out because it tries to balance reduced dimensions with a feature set that remains close to the larger model. Oppo also offers an eSIM version, which makes the watch more flexible for users who want more independence from their phone.

Compact body, premium display

The new smartwatch uses a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 pixel resolution. Oppo says the panel reaches 1,000 nits of brightness, while sapphire crystal protects the screen for added durability.

Its body measures 43.2 x 43.2 x 11.18 mm, making it notably smaller than a 47 mm-class watch. Weight is listed at 40.4 grams without the strap, and the total rises to 58 grams or 60.6 grams depending on the strap version.

Visually, Oppo gives the Watch X3 Mini a more striking appearance. The design leans toward a more decorative look, while still keeping the compact footprint that may appeal to users who find larger smartwatches less comfortable for daily wear.

Connectivity that goes beyond a basic companion watch

Under the hood, the Watch X3 Mini is powered by the Snapdragon Wear W5. The chipset handles smartwatch processing needs, including the connectivity and health functions expected from a premium wearable.

Oppo equips the watch with eSIM on selected variants, along with Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC. For location services, the device supports single-band GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS.

That combination makes the Watch X3 Mini more than just a phone accessory. It is designed to remain useful for users who want communication and navigation features directly from the wrist.

Battery life and durability

Power comes from a 354 mAh battery. Oppo claims the watch can last up to 2.5 days in full smart mode, up to 1.5 days with always-on display active, and as long as one week in power-saving mode.

The company also gives the watch 5ATM and IP68 ratings. Those certifications indicate resistance to water and dust, keeping the device suitable for everyday use and active routines.

Health tracking and sports functions

Oppo includes a broad set of sensors in the Watch X3 Mini. The list covers an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, barometer, optical heart rate sensor, pulse oximeter, wrist temperature sensor, and ambient light sensor.

For fitness use, the watch supports more than 100 sports modes. Oppo also adds an AI sports coach to help guide users through their training and activity monitoring.

These features keep the Watch X3 Mini in the premium smartwatch category despite its smaller size. The compact design does not appear to come at the expense of the health and fitness tools that many users expect from a high-end wearable.

Colors, pricing, and market position

The Watch X3 Mini is available in gold, silver, and brown. Oppo has listed the watch on its official website for pre-order, with pricing starting at CNY 1,799 for the non-eSIM version.

The eSIM-equipped model is priced at CNY 1,999. With this launch, Oppo now offers two watches in the same family: the standard Watch X3 for those who prefer a larger display, and the Mini for users who want a smaller and more compact fit.

The key differences between the two models are size, weight, and design approach, while the main feature set remains relatively well equipped on the Mini. For users watching for a smaller smartwatch with premium materials, broad health tracking, and eSIM support on selected versions, the Watch X3 Mini is positioned as a notable addition to Oppo’s wearable lineup.
