Motorola has added a new model to its Edge 70 lineup in India with the launch of the Edge 70 Pro. The device is positioned as the more powerful option in the series, pairing a large display, a triple 50 MP camera setup, and a high-capacity battery with a premium mid-range focus.

The new arrival joins the earlier Edge 70 and Edge 70 Fusion models, giving Motorola a fuller range for buyers looking at different performance levels. In the Pro version, the company clearly leans toward stronger everyday performance, faster display specs, and long-term software support.

Overclocked chipset and fast memory

At the center of the Edge 70 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme, an overclocked version of the regular Dimensity 8500. Motorola pairs it with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.

That combination puts performance at the front of the device’s positioning. The fast storage also helps keep app loading and multitasking responsive, which fits the phone’s premium mid-range target.

Large pOLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate

The front side carries a 6.8-inch pOLED display with 1.5K resolution. Motorola has also pushed the panel to a 144Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and gaming feel smoother.

Brightness is another major highlight, with the screen rated up to 5,200 nits. The display also supports HDR10+, 10-bit color, Pantone certification, and an under-display fingerprint sensor, giving it a complete set of visual and daily-use features.

Three 50 MP cameras for different use cases

Motorola is also giving the camera system a central role. The main camera uses a 50 MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor and includes OIS to help improve stability in photos and videos.

It is joined by a 50 MP ultrawide lens that also supports macro photography. On the front, the phone carries a 50 MP selfie camera that can record video at up to 4K resolution, creating a setup that covers both rear and front shooting needs.

With three 50 MP sensors in total, the Edge 70 Pro is aimed at users who want flexibility for everyday photos, wider scenes, and self-portraits without relying on a single lens.

Big battery and fast charging support

Battery life is another area where Motorola is trying to stand out. The Edge 70 Pro comes with a 6,500 mAh battery, which places it among the larger-capacity options in its class.

Charging speed is also part of the package, thanks to 90W fast charging. The phone additionally supports 5W reverse charging through a cable, allowing it to work as an emergency power source for other devices when needed.

Built for tougher conditions

The phone is not only about performance and battery life. Motorola gives the Edge 70 Pro IP68 and IP69 ratings for resistance against water and dust, along with MIL-STD 810H military-grade certification.

That standard covers exposure to extreme heat and cold, high humidity, vibration, dust, and impact. Together, these protections make the device more suitable for users who want extra durability in daily use.

Android 16 and connectivity features

Out of the box, the Edge 70 Pro runs Android 16. Motorola also promises three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for the device.

Connectivity support includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. These features help reinforce the phone’s premium positioning beyond its core hardware specs.

Price and color choices

In India, the Edge 70 Pro is offered in Lily White, Titan, and Tea. The 8/256 GB variant is priced at 38,999 rupee, while the 12/256 GB model costs 41,999 rupee.

With its overclocked chipset, 144Hz display, triple 50 MP cameras, large battery, and long software support window, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro enters the market as a strong premium mid-range option with a broad feature set.
