Motorola Edge 70 Pro Brings a 144Hz AMOLED Display and 6,500mAh Battery to India

Motorola has expanded its Edge lineup in India with the launch of the Edge 70 Pro, a model that leans heavily on display quality and battery endurance. The device is positioned for users who want a premium feel, strong everyday features, and long-lasting use in a single package.

The most visible highlights are immediate: a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a 6,500mAh battery. Motorola pairs those elements with a refined design, Pantone-exclusive color options, and a feature set aimed at practical, daily use.

Pricing and availability

Motorola is offering the Edge 70 Pro in two configurations. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 38,999, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB version costs Rs 41,999.

The company has scheduled availability starting 29 April. For early buyers in India, Motorola is also lining up launch offers that include bank discounts and exchange bonuses.

Display takes the spotlight

The 6.8-inch AMOLED panel is one of the phone’s clearest selling points. With support for a 144Hz refresh rate, the screen is designed to deliver smoother motion across scrolling, gaming, and general navigation.

Motorola also claims a peak brightness of up to 5,200 nits, which should help visibility in challenging lighting conditions. That makes the display a central part of the device’s appeal, especially for users who prioritize visual comfort and premium screen performance.

Performance, memory, and cooling

Under the hood, the Edge 70 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme. Motorola combines this chipset with LPDDR5X RAM of up to 12GB and UFS 4.1 storage rated at 256GB.

To keep performance steady during heavier workloads, the phone uses a vapor chamber cooling system. That kind of thermal management is important for users who spend long hours on demanding apps or multitasking sessions.

Camera setup centers on 50MP sensors

On the rear, the phone carries a triple-camera system led by a 50MP main sensor based on Sony LYT-710 and supported by OIS. Optical stabilization should help improve shot stability, particularly when hands are not perfectly still.

The rear setup also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view, along with an additional sensor. For selfies and video calls, Motorola has placed a 50MP front camera with autofocus on the device.

Battery capacity is a major advantage

Battery life is another area where the Edge 70 Pro aims to stand out. The 6,500mAh battery is paired with 90W fast charging and 5W reverse charging, giving the phone a practical edge for users who need long endurance with quick top-ups.

This combination makes the device suitable for people who rely on their phone throughout the day and do not want to stay close to a charger for long periods. The large battery is one of the most important factors shaping the phone’s positioning in India’s upper mid-range segment.

Software, durability, and connectivity

The Edge 70 Pro runs Hello UI based on Android 16. Motorola also promises three years of operating system and security updates, which adds a clearer long-term support window for buyers.

Connectivity support includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and multiple global navigation systems. The phone also carries IP68 and IP69 certification, alongside MIL-STD 810H durability standards, giving it added protection against dust, water, and tougher conditions.

Pantone colors add a premium identity

Motorola has also used design to strengthen the phone’s identity. The Edge 70 Pro arrives in Pantone Lilly White, Pantone Tea, and Pantone Titan, each giving the device a distinct premium look.

That focus on color and finish helps the phone stand apart in a crowded market where specifications alone are rarely enough. Combined with the 144Hz display, 6,500mAh battery, 50MP camera system, and durability ratings, the Edge 70 Pro enters India as a well-rounded option for users who want both style and substance.
