Huawei’s Watch Fit line is becoming more ambitious, and the new Watch Fit 5 Pro shows that shift clearly. The model brings a brighter display, a more premium build, and health tools that move it closer to more expensive smartwatches.
Huawei is not changing the overall sporty identity of the series, but it is adding features that make the Pro version stand out. Among the most notable upgrades are a 3,000 nits AMOLED display, ECG support, and a more refined design that is still aimed at active everyday use.
A brighter screen for outdoor use
The Watch Fit 5 Pro keeps the familiar elongated shape that has long defined the series. That form factor is meant to stay comfortable for workouts, daily wear, and casual use, while also leaving enough room for a display that is easier to read on the go.
On the Pro model, Huawei uses a 1.92-inch AMOLED panel with thinner bezels and 2.5D sapphire glass protection. Its 3,000 nits peak brightness is one of the biggest highlights, since it should make the screen easier to see in direct sunlight.
The standard Watch Fit 5 also uses an AMOLED display, but it is slightly smaller at 1.82 inches. Its 2,500 nits brightness is still high for a smartwatch in this segment, and both versions support Always-On Display.
More premium materials on the Pro variant
Huawei gives both watches an aluminum middle frame, keeping the build lightweight and practical for daily use. The Pro version adds a titanium bezel, which helps it look and feel more premium than the standard model.
The finishing touches are also consistent with that positioning. Both watches place two physical buttons on the right side, consisting of a digital crown and a shortcut button for quick access to selected functions.
Durability remains a key part of the package as well. Both devices carry a 5 ATM rating, which means they are suitable for swimming and general water exposure. The Watch Fit 5 Pro goes further by adding a freediving certification for depths of up to 40 meters.
Health tracking gets a more serious upgrade
Huawei equips both watches with a new optical heart rate module using 6 LED and 6 PPG sensors. The company says this setup is intended to improve heart rate accuracy during daily wear and exercise.
A body temperature sensor is also included on both models, expanding the health tracking set beyond basic heart rate monitoring. For users who want more advanced health functionality, the Watch Fit 5 Pro adds ECG, making it the main differentiator in the health category.
The Pro model also includes a depth sensor, which aligns with its stronger focus on water-related activities. That combination gives the higher-end variant a broader appeal for users who want wellness monitoring and more specialized activity support in one device.
Sport and connectivity features are expanded
Huawei is also updating the activity side of the series with a new cycling mode. The company says the approach is similar to what it uses on the Watch GT 6 Pro line, although it does not provide further implementation details.
Both smartwatches support Dual-band GNSS for more precise location tracking. NFC is included as well, along with Bluetooth 6.0 for more stable connectivity in everyday use.
Another practical addition is the built-in microphone and speaker on both models. That lets users take calls directly from the wrist and use voice functions without always reaching for a phone.
Huawei has also added a new voice recorder to the series. It can be useful for quick reminders, short notes, or meeting memos when a phone is not immediately accessible.
Battery life remains a major selling point
Despite the more advanced features, Huawei still positions the Watch Fit 5 series as long-lasting wearables. The company claims both models can last up to 10 days under certain usage conditions.
That battery claim remains one of the strongest advantages of the lineup for users who prefer a smartwatch that does not need frequent charging. It also fits the needs of active users who want a device ready for extended daily use.
Colors and pricing
The Watch Fit 5 is offered in Purple, Green, White, Black, and Silver, with a starting price of CNY 1,099. The Watch Fit 5 Pro comes in Black, White, and Orange, starting at CNY 2,199.
Huawei says both models will go on sale in China on 29 April 2025. The company has not announced a global launch schedule yet, including for Indonesia, so users outside China still need to wait for further information.
