May is shaping up to be a crowded month for the smartphone market, with several major launches set to target both premium and more accessible price tiers. The most attention is going to five devices that each take a different approach to performance, battery life, and imaging.

The lineup brings together Oppo Find X9 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra, OnePlus Nord CE 6, Oppo Find X9s, and Vivo X300 FE. Together, they cover the full range from ultra-premium flagships to a more affordable option that still carries serious hardware.

Premium models are leading the charge

Among the most anticipated releases, Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra stand out as the most aggressive flagships in this wave. Both are positioned in the highest tier and share a clear focus on top-end hardware, while still taking different routes in camera design and battery capacity.

Vivo X300 Ultra is set to be introduced on 6 May in India. It comes with a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a 6,600mAh battery, combined with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Its camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. A 50MP front camera is also included, and Vivo will offer a photography kit for users who want extended zoom options.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra is another headline model, already launched in China and scheduled to arrive in India in May, although the exact date has not been announced. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with QHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 3600 nits.

Battery life looks equally serious, with a 7,050mAh cell supported by 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The rear camera system is especially notable, combining a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

A compact option with flagship-level appeal

For buyers who prefer a smaller device without giving up premium features, Vivo X300 FE is expected to draw attention. It will launch alongside the X300 Ultra on 6 May and takes a more compact direction with a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display.

The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a peak brightness of 5000 nits, which should help in outdoor visibility. Under the hood, Vivo uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, and the phone ships with Android 16.

The company also promises OS updates up to Android 21, which adds long-term software support to the package. Its camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens, while the battery measures 6,500mAh with 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Mid-range buyers still get serious hardware

Not every model in this group is aimed at the top of the market. OnePlus Nord CE 6 is set to land on 7 May together with the Nord CE 6 Lite, and the expected price range sits between INR 20,000 and 25,000.

Even at that level, OnePlus is positioning the phone as more than a budget product. The device is powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and features a 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits of peak brightness, plus what the company calls “flagship touch response for ultra-high-FPS gaming.”

Battery capacity is a major selling point here, with an 8,000mAh unit that OnePlus says can deliver more than two days of normal use. The phone also includes a 50MP rear camera with dual-axis OIS, a 32MP autofocus front camera, and durability ratings that cover MIL-STD-810H, IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.

Oppo’s second model rounds out the premium mid-range

Oppo is not relying on only one device this month. Oppo Find X9s is also on the schedule for May in India, though the full timeline has not been detailed yet, and it takes the role of a premium mid-range handset instead of a true ultra-flagship.

Its Dimensity 9500s chipset is designed to balance performance and efficiency, while the 6.59-inch AMOLED display runs at 120Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 3600 nits. The battery capacity is 7,025mAh, supported by 80W fast charging, which keeps it close to the larger models in endurance.

The rear camera setup uses three 50MP sensors, covering the main camera, a 3x optical zoom lens, and an ultrawide camera. A 32MP front camera completes the package, giving the Find X9s a more balanced profile for users who want premium features without moving all the way into ultra-flagship territory.
