Realme C100 Turns Battery Life Into Its Biggest Advantage, Launching May 7 With 8,000mAh

Realme is preparing to bring the C100 to the Indonesian smartphone market, and the device is drawing attention for one clear reason: it is claimed to be the first phone in its class with an 8,000mAh battery. The launch is scheduled for 7 May, placing battery endurance at the center of Realme’s latest entry-level push.

The focus on capacity reflects a broader shift in how people use their phones. Smartphones are now expected to handle communication, navigation, entertainment, and gaming in a single day, making long battery life one of the most important buying considerations.

Battery life remains the main selling point

Realme Indonesia Public Relations Lead Krisva Angnieszca said consumer needs have moved beyond simply looking for 5,000mAh or 6,000mAh batteries. According to her, phones now function as the center of daily activity rather than only as communication tools.

That idea sits at the core of the C100’s positioning. Realme places its 8,000mAh battery as the main value proposition, with the company claiming the capacity is the first of its kind in the segment. The device is therefore being presented as a standout option in the entry-level category.

Claims beyond ordinary daily use

Realme says the C100 has been tested for demanding usage patterns and can last up to 1.7 days in intensive scenarios. For entertainment, the phone is claimed to support more than 24 hours of online video playback and up to 11 hours of continuous gaming.

The company also provides a more practical example of everyday use. If the phone starts at 7 a.m. with a full charge, it is said to still have around 40 percent battery left at night after a full day of activity.

Even in an emergency, the battery is described as still useful for basic communication. When the charge drops to 1 percent, the device is claimed to remain capable of 23 minutes of calling.

Built with long-term battery durability in mind

Capacity is only part of the story Realme is telling with the C100. The company also highlights battery durability, saying the unit supports up to 1,600 charging cycles and can last for more than 7 years.

To support that claim, Realme includes bypass charging and AI Power Saving, both of which work automatically to manage power use. The approach is intended to keep the phone reliable for everyday use while also extending its usable lifespan.

Realme says the C100 has also become the first phone recorded in AnTuTu’s All-Day Heavy Usage Test category. That additional recognition helps reinforce the company’s message that the model is designed for heavy, all-day use in the entry-level range.

More details will follow at launch

For now, battery performance is the most visible part of the C100 story, while full specifications and official pricing remain under wraps. Realme is expected to reveal those details at the formal launch on 7 May, leaving the market waiting for the rest of the device’s profile.

The C100 is not the only entry-level model in Realme’s lineup. The company is also preparing the Realme Note 80, which comes with a 6.74-inch display, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 6,300mAh battery, and a Unisoc T7250 chipset.

Taken together, the C100 and Note 80 show Realme’s direction in the affordable smartphone segment. The emphasis remains on longer battery life for users who need a device that can keep up with busy routines throughout the day.
