Snapdragon 8 Elite Powers Razr 70 Ultra, Motorola Pushes Its Foldable Into Premium Territory

Motorola is pushing its Razr lineup deeper into premium territory, and the Razr 70 Ultra stands out as the model built to make that message clear. With Snapdragon 8 Elite at its core, the foldable now targets buyers who want a clamshell design without giving up flagship-level hardware.

The Razr 70 series also includes the Razr 70 and Razr 70 Plus, giving Motorola three distinct options in one family. That approach lets the company cover more ground, from users looking for a more accessible foldable to those aiming for the most powerful version.

Three models, one clamshell identity

All three phones keep the familiar clamshell format that has long defined the Razr name. The design keeps the classic feel intact while allowing Motorola to update the hardware underneath.

The Razr 70 serves as the entry model, the Razr 70 Plus adds more performance, and the Razr 70 Ultra sits at the top of the range. That structure makes the series feel broader than a single flagship release.

Razr 70: the base model with solid specs

The Razr 70 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chipset and comes with 8 GB of RAM. Storage options include 256 GB and 512 GB, giving the base model more than one choice for internal capacity.

Its main display is a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,640 pixels. The screen supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

On the outside, the phone has a 3.6-inch LTPS AMOLED display. That panel offers a 90 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,700 nits for quick checks without unfolding the device.

Razr 70 Plus adds a stronger package

The Razr 70 Plus steps up to Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and pairs it with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Motorola also gives this model a 6.9-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED main screen.

Its cover display grows to 4 inches, and it supports a 165 Hz refresh rate. Brightness on the outer panel reaches 2,400 nits.

The camera setup remains unchanged from the rest of the family. It includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 32 MP front camera.

Razr 70 Ultra targets the top tier

The Razr 70 Ultra is the clear performance lead because it runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite. Motorola combines the chip with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage.

Its main display is larger at 7 inches and carries a resolution of 1,224 x 2,992 pixels. The panel also supports a 165 Hz refresh rate and can reach 5,000 nits of brightness.

Camera hardware is also more ambitious on the Ultra. Motorola uses a 50 MP main sensor with LOFIC technology, keeps a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and upgrades the front camera to 50 MP.

Battery capacity climbs to 5,000 mAh on the top model. Charging support includes 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging.

Pricing and color options

The Razr 70 starts at $799.99, or around Rp 13.8 million. The Razr 70 Plus is priced at $1,099.99, or around Rp 19 million, while the Razr 70 Ultra reaches $1,499.99, or around Rp 26 million.

Motorola also separates the lineup through color choices. The Razr 70 comes in Pantone Hematite, Bright White, Sporting Green, and Violet Ice, while the Razr 70 Plus is offered in Pantone Mountain View.

The Razr 70 Ultra is available in Pantone Orient Blue and Pantone Cocoa. With the combination of a classic foldable form, fast screens, larger batteries, and a true flagship chipset at the top, the series gives Motorola a stronger position in the premium foldable segment.
