Xiaomi’s next T-series phones are shaping up to be far more ambitious than a routine upgrade. The leaked Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro pair large batteries, fast displays, and 5x telephoto cameras in a package that looks aimed squarely at the lower end of the flagship segment.
The two models are being positioned with clear differences from the start. Xiaomi 17T is said to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, while Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to run on the Dimensity 9500, giving the Pro version the stronger platform and a more complete feature set.
Battery capacity is one of the biggest talking points
Power options are where the gap becomes most obvious. Xiaomi 17T is rumored to carry a 6,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging, while Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to a 7,000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
That combination makes the Pro model especially aggressive on paper. For users who stay connected all day, battery size and charging speed often matter as much as chipset choice.
The displays also separate the two phones clearly
Xiaomi 17T is said to feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Those numbers point to a screen built for smooth scrolling, media viewing, and gaming.
Xiaomi 17T Pro moves to a larger 6.83-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The bigger panel and faster refresh rate give it a more premium feel and make it the more comfortable option for entertainment and productivity.
A 5x telephoto camera on both models stands out
One of the most notable details in the leak is the presence of 5x optical telephoto zoom on both devices. That is still not a common feature in this class, and it gives the series a stronger photography angle than many upper mid-range rivals.
The Xiaomi 17T is reported to use a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, paired with a 50MP 5x telephoto lens, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front camera. Xiaomi 17T Pro keeps the same telephoto, ultrawide, and selfie camera setup, but swaps in a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main sensor.
Materials and memory reinforce the split
The two phones are also said to differ in build. Xiaomi 17T reportedly uses a plastic frame, while Xiaomi 17T Pro gets a metal frame for a more premium in-hand feel.
Color options are listed as Blue, Black, and Purple for both models. On the memory side, Xiaomi 17T is said to come with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, while Xiaomi 17T Pro also carries 12GB of RAM with a larger storage option.
Connectivity and software details are already taking shape
Both devices are expected to ship with Android 16 based on HyperOS. Xiaomi 17T is listed with Wi-Fi 6E and NFC, while Xiaomi 17T Pro moves up to Wi-Fi 7 and NFC.
That difference fits Xiaomi’s strategy of giving the Pro model the more advanced package across the board. The standard version still looks well equipped, but the Pro is being shaped as the fuller and more premium choice.
Price leaks point to a wide gap in Europe
Dealabs has shared estimated European pricing for the lineup, specifically for France. Xiaomi 17T with 12GB/256GB is said to cost €749, while Xiaomi 17T Pro with 12GB/512GB is listed at €999.
The pricing spread matches the hardware gap between the two phones, from the chipset and frame material to the battery system and wireless charging. The figures are still only leaks, but the amount of detail now circulating suggests the launch of the series may be approaching soon.
