vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500e Surface in IMEI Listings, With the New X500e Raising the Most Questions

Three model names tied to vivo’s upcoming X500 series have surfaced at once in the GSMA IMEI database, and that detail is the clearest sign yet that the lineup will be broader than first assumed. Instead of only two versions, the early listing points to vivo X500, vivo X500 Pro, and vivo X500e.

The appearance of an “e” variant is especially notable because the previous generation did not include an X300e. That makes the new naming structure harder to read at first glance, while also suggesting that vivo is preparing a different product layout for the next flagship family.

A wider X500 family takes shape

The two more familiar names, X500 and X500 Pro, fit neatly into the role of direct successors to the X300 and X300 Pro. The Pro model was the first member of the X300 family introduced in October, and the new naming pattern indicates that vivo is continuing that split between standard and higher-end versions.

What changes the picture is the third listing. The database entry suggests that vivo is not limiting the X500 series to a simple two-model refresh, but is instead building a more layered lineup from the start. For the market, that usually points to a wider attempt to cover different user needs within the same premium family.

Why the X500e stands out

Among the three names, the X500e is the least easy to place. No official detail has explained how it will differ from the regular X500 or the X500 Pro, and that leaves its role open for now.

It is not yet clear whether the model will target a lower price point, a more compact design, or a specific use case. Even so, its presence alone marks a structural change from the previous generation, where there was no equivalent X300e in the family.

Another detail that has drawn attention is vivo’s decision to jump straight to the X500 naming. The company skipped X400, a move that is commonly linked to tetraphobia, the tendency to avoid the number four.

Early hardware clues remain limited but interesting

IMEI records do not reveal specifications, so the three model names are only an early signal. Still, separate rumors have already given a rough outline of what the new phones may bring when they finally arrive.

The standard vivo X500 is said to feature a 6.4-inch display, while the X500 Pro is expected to use a larger 6.9-inch panel. That size gap suggests vivo still wants to separate the two main models through screen size and overall device feel.

Camera testing appears to be another major focus. A 50MP LOFIC main sensor has been mentioned, along with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera that is also reportedly under testing for devices in this family.

Battery rumors point to a large-capacity strategy

Another leak indicates that both the X500 and X500 Pro may come with batteries above 7,000 mAh. If that proves accurate, the series would stand out strongly in its class, especially when paired with large displays and advanced imaging hardware.

For now, none of those technical details has been confirmed by vivo. The IMEI database only confirms the existence of the model names, not the final design, feature set, or market positioning of each device.

Even so, the emerging picture is clear enough: vivo is preparing a more varied successor to the X300 line, and the addition of the X500e means the family is likely to be more complex than a standard base-and-Pro pairing. Further certification listings and official announcements will be needed before the full role of each model becomes clear.
