OnePlus is preparing another flagship tablet, but the device now taking shape in China does not appear to be a separate global launch. The model in question, OnePlus Pad 3 Pro, is already open for reservations in China and arrives with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, yet its identity strongly suggests it is tied to a tablet already sold outside China.
That is what makes the situation notable. OnePlus Pad 3 Pro is described as being very close to OnePlus Pad 4, a model already available in markets outside China, including India. As a result, the chance of this new tablet emerging as an additional international product appears slim.
A premium tablet with familiar hardware
OnePlus has already revealed most of the important details through its official listing. The information includes images, color options, memory configurations, and the main features that place the tablet firmly in the premium segment.
At the center of the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform. OnePlus also equips the tablet with a 40,760 mm² cooling system that combines graphite and VC heat dissipation to help manage temperatures during heavy use.
The software side is just as focused on productivity. The tablet runs ColorOS 16 and includes a free multi-window desktop-style system designed to make multitasking feel closer to a PC experience.
Large display built for work and entertainment
The display is a 13.2-inch TCL CSOT LCD panel with a resolution of 3392 x 2400 and a pixel density of 315 ppi. It also supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, which should help smooth motion across both content and interface interactions.
Brightness and color handling are also positioned as key strengths. The screen reaches up to 700 nits manually and can peak at 1000 nits, while full DCI-P3 coverage is included along with a claimed deltaE of around 0.7 for better color accuracy.
OnePlus says the tablet is the first to receive TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 5.0 certification. That detail points to a display designed not only for size and sharpness, but also for more comfortable long-term use.
Audio, battery, and accessories
For media use, the tablet carries an eight-speaker setup. The configuration includes four mid-bass units and four ultra-wideband tweeters, supported by dual Hi-Res Audio certifications.
Power comes from a 13,380mAh battery, with 67W fast charging included to reduce downtime. Camera hardware is kept simple, with an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera, making the device more suitable for video calls and basic capture than advanced tablet photography.
OnePlus also adds USB 3.1 connectivity and a magnetic ring antenna system. Accessory support is an important part of the package as well, with the OnePlus Floating Keyboard offering integrated NFC and the OnePlus Pencil 3 Pro joining it as a stylus option.
Color options and China launch timing
The tablet is scheduled to go on sale in China on 13 May 2026. Three memory configurations are listed: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB.
Color information appears in two sets across the listing material. The official listing shows Deep Brown and Light Green, while additional promotional material mentions Dawn Gold, Mocha Brown, and Monet Purple.
Why a global release looks unlikely
The strongest clue remains the similarity to OnePlus Pad 4. With design and hardware said to be nearly identical, OnePlus Pad 3 Pro looks more like a China-specific naming variant than a truly separate new model.
Because OnePlus Pad 4 is already on sale outside China, including India, there is little reason to expect OnePlus Pad 3 Pro to appear as a distinct global launch. For buyers outside China, the newer name is therefore more likely to stay limited to the domestic market rather than becoming a new international tablet line.
