The device is also expected to rely on a MediaTek Dimensity chip, keeping the focus on practical performance rather than aggressive specifications. Among the rumored features, the battery setup is the most striking. 91Mobiles says the Vivo T5 Lite may come with a 6,500mAh battery and 44W fast charging.
That would give the phone one of its biggest selling points right away. In a price-sensitive market, a larger battery often matters more than cosmetic changes, especially for buyers who care about endurance and quick top-ups.
The phone is also said to carry an IP65 rating. That would mean protection against dust and water splashes, adding a layer of durability that could appeal to users looking for a sturdier everyday device.
Expected chipset points to the lower mid-range
On the performance side, leaks point to either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or Dimensity 6400. Both options place the T5 Lite in the lower mid-range category, where efficiency and stable day-to-day use matter more than flagship-level power.
According to Abhishek Yadav on X, the Vivo T5 Lite is expected to launch in India by the end of this month, which is May 2026. The exact launch date has not been revealed, so the timing is still waiting for official confirmation from Vivo.
The chipset choice also hints at the kind of experience Vivo may be targeting. Instead of chasing headline-grabbing specs, the company appears to be building around reliable basics such as social media, browsing, and everyday multitasking.
How it compares with Vivo T4 Lite
The new model appears to build directly on the foundation of the Vivo T4 Lite. That device came with a Dimensity 6300 chip and a 6,000mAh battery, so the T5 Lite would mark a noticeable step up in capacity.
The T4 Lite also featured a 6.74-inch HD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. In the camera department, it used a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor.
That makes the T5 Lite sound less like a full reinvention and more like a focused refresh. The biggest changes so far are centered on battery size, charging speed, and added durability, which are all practical upgrades for the audience Vivo seems to be targeting.
Possible display detail remains unconfirmed
There is also some speculation that the T5 Lite could share traits with the iQOO Z10X. One of the ideas floating around is a 120Hz display, but that remains unverified.
