RedMagic 11S Pro Raises The Bar At 4.74GHz, Rivals Face A Harder Fight

RedMagic is sharpening its gaming phone strategy around a number that immediately stands out: 4.74GHz. That clock speed belongs to a special Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 “Leading Version” that will power the RedMagic 11S Pro, and it is one of the clearest signs yet that the brand wants to separate itself from rivals on raw performance.

The phone is confirmed to launch in China on 18 May, and the timing places it directly into a more aggressive competition among high-end gaming devices. RedMagic appears to be betting that a higher frequency, paired with strict internal screening, will matter to users who care most about long gaming sessions and sustained speed.

A chip selection process built for higher clocks

RedMagic says the “Leading Version” label is not just a marketing term. The company describes it as a special variant that is selected through three strict testing stages before it earns the designation.

One key requirement is stable operation at 4.74GHz. That figure is important because it sits above the roughly 4.61GHz level mentioned for many other Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phones, giving RedMagic a measurable edge on paper.

The company has also pushed the chip through additional extreme-condition tests. Those checks are meant to examine stability, heat, and power efficiency when the processor is running at high voltage and high frequency.

More than a benchmark chase

The focus is not limited to a headline clock speed. RedMagic seems to be targeting consistency, especially when the phone is under heavy load for extended periods.

That matters in gaming, where peak performance is only part of the equation. If heat builds up too quickly or power use becomes inefficient, performance can drop during the very moments when users need it most.

Gaming claims go beyond the processor

In its teaser, RedMagic says the 11S Pro can run more than 200 games at up to 2K resolution and 144fps. The company also names titles such as Call of Duty and Break Through the Dark Zone as examples.

The phone is further said to support frame interpolation and resolution enhancement during gameplay. Those features are aimed at making motion smoother and images sharper in fast-paced games.

Cooling will likely be decisive

A high-performance chip usually brings more heat, and that remains one of the biggest challenges for gaming phones. RedMagic is expected to rely again on its familiar cooling setup to keep the hardware under control.

That system is said to include a large vapor chamber, an active internal fan, and liquid cooling technology. Such a combination becomes especially important when a phone is pushed at higher frequencies over long sessions.

A wider push into gaming devices

RedMagic is not limiting its ambitions to the 11S Pro alone. The company is also said to be preparing the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro alongside the phone.

The tablet is expected to feature a 9-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. It is also tipped to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, along with up to 24GB of RAM and storage reaching 1TB.

Taken together, the phone and tablet suggest a broader move from RedMagic toward a deeper gaming hardware lineup. For now, the main attention remains on the 11S Pro and whether its 4.74GHz “Leading Version” chip can deliver the kind of sustained performance that mobile gamers are looking for.
