A leaked Canadian rollout schedule suggests Samsung may be preparing a faster-than-expected launch window for One UI 8.5 on several high-end Galaxy devices. If the list circulating online is accurate, the Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are positioned to receive the stable release first.
The leak was reportedly spotted by @theonecid, who said a Canadian schedule included dates for the update. In that listing, the Galaxy S24 series is marked for May 17, and the same date is also shown for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
That timing stands out because Samsung usually rolls out software updates on weekdays. May 17 falls on a Sunday, so the date is unusual, but it still offers an early look at how the company may be planning the next phase of distribution.
Premium devices appear to lead the rollout
The pattern in the leaked schedule fits Samsung’s usual approach. Newer flagship phones and foldables often get priority when major software packages begin spreading to users.
If the timeline holds, Galaxy S24 owners would not be alone at the front of the queue. The latest foldables also appear to be included in the first wave, which points to Samsung giving top-end devices the earliest access to One UI 8.5.
The listing does not stop there. It also suggests a second wave is set to follow soon after, with a different group of Galaxy models scheduled for May 23.
A second wave is shown for older flagships and one mid-range model
According to the same schedule, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S23 FE are all listed for May 23. On that same date, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are also shown alongside the Galaxy A56.
That arrangement suggests a staged rollout rather than a broad release on a single day. Samsung appears to be separating the rollout by device generation and product tier, with the newest premium models first and older premium devices following shortly after.
For users, that would mean the wait may be shorter for flagship owners, while other Galaxy devices move into the update queue only a few days later. The leaked calendar therefore paints a picture of a tightly grouped rollout rather than a long delay between device families.
Some names may be tied only to security updates
The same list also includes the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. However, those models are described as likely receiving only a security patch, not a new One UI 8.5 package.
That detail matters because both devices are said to already be running stable One UI 8.5. Their appearance in the schedule therefore seems more consistent with routine maintenance than with a major interface upgrade.
Samsung has not confirmed the dates or the rollout order. Until there is official word, the Canadian schedule should be treated as an early hint rather than a final plan.
Even so, the leak gives a clear signal about where One UI 8.5 may land first in Canada. If the schedule does not change, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 would be the first models to get the stable update, with the Galaxy S23 series, last year’s foldables, and the Galaxy A56 following in the next wave.
