UGREEN is betting that the next battle in portable charging will be fought on safety, not just on capacity or design. The company has partnered with Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) and helped shape GB 47372-2026, a new technical standard in China centered on power bank safety.

A partnership built around the battery core
The collaboration with ATL gives UGREEN access to lithium-ion cells from one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers. UGREEN combines those cells with its own systems engineering to improve stability and keep performance consistent over time.
This also strengthens its upstream supply chain. With tighter control over core components from the start of production, the company can monitor quality more closely at an early stage.
Safety is being pushed into the standard itself
UGREEN’s role is not limited to product development. The company also took part in drafting GB 47372-2026, the new Chinese technical standard designed to improve power bank safety.
That involvement matters because it moves safety from a product-level concern into the technical rules that shape the category. In a market where portable power devices are becoming more widely used, stronger oversight of quality has become increasingly important.
Five layers of protection across production
To support its safety approach, UGREEN uses a structured system built on five key elements. These include digital traceability, automated production, product identification, strict testing, and real-time monitoring.
A central part of that system is the Manufacturing Execution System, or MES. It is used for full digital traceability, production parameter monitoring, process validation, and more controlled management of manufacturing results.
UGREEN also automates important production steps such as cell matching, welding, dispensing, and testing. The goal is to keep quality more consistent while reducing the risk of human error.
Tracing each unit in detail
Every UGREEN power bank carries a unique serial code. That code includes details such as the production date, factory location, and the battery cell specification used in the unit.
Testing is equally rigorous. The company uses methods including nail penetration, lithium plating, and pressure tests, and says those tests meet GB 47372-2026.
UGREEN also runs a real-time monitoring system to track battery cell performance and spot anomalies. This helps the company analyze the product throughout its lifecycle and maintain quality after the device reaches users.
