Dan + Shay To Play Free Pre-Game Concert, Turning Stanley Cup Final Into A Must-See Double Feature

The NHL has announced that Dan + Shay will perform a free concert before Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final outside Lenovo Center in Raleigh. The show is set for 5:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 4, ahead of the 8:00 p.m. ET matchup between the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights.

The outdoor performance is open to the public, and no ticket is required. Fans with game tickets will be able to enter Lenovo Center starting at 6:30 p.m. ET, while those without tickets can stay at the South Plaza for an on-site watch party.

How fans can attend

The concert will take place outside the arena and will not require admission to the game. That makes it accessible to hockey fans and local attendees who want to take part in the pregame atmosphere without needing a Stanley Cup Final ticket.

Selected portions of the performance will also be included in the game coverage on ABC, ESPN, Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports. That gives the concert a wider audience beyond the crowd gathered in Raleigh.

Why Dan + Shay were chosen

Dan + Shay bring a major country music profile to one of hockey’s biggest nights. The duo has won three GRAMMY Awards and made history as the first and only act to win Best Country Duo/Group Performance three times in a row, earning the award for “Tequila,” “Speechless” and “10,000 Hours.”

Their commercial reach is also notable. The pair has surpassed 14 billion global streams and collected 139 worldwide sales certifications, including 60 from the U.S. RIAA and 81 international certifications.

A busy period for the duo

The concert comes during a strong creative stretch for the pair, who recently scored their eleventh No. 1 at country radio with the title track from their fifth studio album, Bigger Houses. The album was co-produced by Dan Smyers with Scott Hendrick.

More music is on the way as well. Dan + Shay have an album titled Young scheduled for August 2026, and the first release from that project, “Say So,” carried a message of hope and personal connection that drew attention from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The duo also plans to tour in support of the album during the second half of 2026 with The Young Tour, extending their presence well beyond the Stanley Cup Final stage in Raleigh.
