Lioness Season 3 Gets August 2 Release Date, Joe’s War Comes Home Again

Paramount+ has set the release date for Season 3 of Taylor Sheridan’s espionage thriller Lioness. The new season will premiere on August 2, bringing Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman back to the center of the series’ covert world.

The series continues to follow Joe, played by Saldaña, as hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals collide around her. In Season 3, Joe must balance duty and home while unseen forces close in, leaving her to face enemies operating from the shadows.

What Season 3 is setting up

The new season places Joe in a more dangerous position as patterns emerge where they should not, names disappear, and paths shift around her. Guided by Kaitlyn, played by Kidman, and Westfield, played by Michael Kelly, she is forced to confront a conflict that reaches into every part of her life.

That personal pressure builds on the events of Season 2, when the CIA’s battle against terror moved closer to home. Joe, Kaitlyn, and Byron enlisted a new Lioness operative to enter a previously unknown threat, and the strain pushed Joe to confront the sacrifices tied to leading the program.

Returning cast and creative team

Alongside Saldaña and Kidman, Lioness also stars Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, Hannah Love Lanier and Ian Bohen. The cast gives the series a broad ensemble that supports its mix of intelligence work, family strain, and high-stakes operations.

The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski and Keith Cox. That producer lineup keeps Sheridan’s signature focus on pressure, loyalty, and competing interests at the center of the Paramount+ drama.

Why the release matters for Paramount+

The new season keeps Lioness positioned as one of Paramount+’s key original thrillers. Its mix of espionage, personal conflict, and shifting alliances has made the series a notable part of Taylor Sheridan’s television slate.

With the August 2 premiere now set, the next chapter will continue Joe’s story as the conflict becomes more personal and the threat grows harder to separate from her private life.
