Cardi B says one of her former partners reacted badly after their breakup, claiming he threatened to kill himself and also made threats against her life. She discussed the situation during a recent chat with fans on X Spaces.
“You see what happens when a b**chs really leaves,” she told listeners. “We all saw how he almost wanted to kill himself when I left.”
The breakup fallout kept getting worse
Cardi said she did not want to bring the issue up publicly, but argued that the reaction showed how tense the relationship had become. She also suggested that some men end up moving on to someone else, rather than staying with the woman they were allegedly cheating with.
“Why they not with them? Why they don’t be with them when I leave?” she said. “They getting brand new bitches. Why did they be crashing out over me?”
She framed the situation as a response to her name and public profile, saying the intensity of the reaction showed people were watching the breakup unfold in real time. Cardi did not name the ex-partner during the conversation.
Offset has been central to the recent drama
Cardi later used Spaces in 2025 to allege that Offset had been harassing her after she reached out to his new girlfriend with screenshots of messages he sent the “Bodak Yellow” rapper. She also alleged he was suicidal.
Earlier this year, a judge reportedly denied Offset’s request for a paternity test for Cardi and Diggs’ child as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings. Cardi filed for divorce from the rapper in 2024 and requested primary custody of their children.
During her marriage to Offset, social media personality Celina Powell claimed she was pregnant with his child. In January, Powell shared a video that appears to show her and Offset in bed, and later claimed he was threatening her daily and owed her thousands.
The public claims add another layer to a divorce and custody dispute that has continued to play out online. For now, Cardi’s remarks keep the focus on the personal fallout she says followed after she walked away from the relationship.
