Noeul, a golden retriever with a lifelong love of water, suddenly became quiet after hours of energetic pool play. When her owner looked outside, only the dog’s head could be seen bobbing above the water.
The unexpected stillness caused concern, but Noeul was not in trouble. She had simply found a more comfortable way to remain in the pool without continuing to paddle.
A Break Without Leaving the Water
During a family trip earlier this month, Noeul had the chance to swim at a rented house with a pool. She jumped in eagerly and stayed in the water from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., according to www.thedodo.com.
When the splashing stopped, Younga Song went outside to check on her dog. She found Noeul standing on the pool floor and leaning comfortably against the edge.
The position allowed Noeul to rest while keeping her head above water and staying close to the pool. Her relaxed pose turned what first appeared to be a worrying moment into a funny one for her family.
Song described Noeul as a “water-retriever,” explaining that the dog wants to jump in as soon as she sees water and “refuses to come out.” The pool break appeared to be Noeul’s solution after a long afternoon of swimming.
Eventually, Noeul’s pool time came to an end. But her quiet moment by the edge showed that even an enthusiastic swimmer can enjoy a pause without leaving the water.
