Louis Tomlinson has made a generous donation of $9,000 to support his former One Direction bodyguard, who is facing serious medical challenges. The bodyguard, who urgently requires a second leg operation, has been struggling financially to cover the costs.
Tracy Trigg, a close friend of the bodyguard, created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the much-needed surgery. Thanks to Tomlinson’s contribution, public donations surged, exceeding £11,000 by Saturday. The bodyguard expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unexpected support, stating, “I can’t thank him enough. Wow. I wasn’t expecting that.”
The bodyguard previously underwent a significant operation in Madrid, described by the surgeon as “life-saving.” He said the surgery lifted a weight off his shoulders but emphasized that without the second procedure, he faces a lifetime of pain. He said the financial strain has depleted his savings and left his family struggling.
“I’ve never asked for money but I’ve got nothing left,” he shared, highlighting the dire situation he faces. His family has exhausted their resources trying to help him recover. The upcoming surgery is critical for him to regain mobility and reduce chronic pain.
Tomlinson maintains a close bond with his former security team and other One Direction members. The bodyguard recalled reuniting with the band at Liam Payne’s funeral last year, a deeply emotional time for all involved. He described the reunion as “the saddest time ever but a lovely reunion.”
This act of kindness by Tomlinson has not only provided substantial financial relief but also inspired others to contribute to the cause. The continued support will be crucial to ensuring the bodyguard receives the care he desperately needs to improve his quality of life.
