Terry Crews Drives Full-Size LEGO Cadillac as F1 Stars Celebrate Las Vegas GP Victory
At the Las Vegas Grand Prix, actor and Cadillac F1 team ambassador Terry Crews took the wheel of a remarkable full-size LEGO creation. The 1950s Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special, composed of 418,000 bricks, was drivable and served as the "cool down car" after the 50-lap race under Las Vegas lights.
Weighing over two tonnes and stretching more than five meters long, the open-top pink Cadillac included functioning lights and sounds. It was a standout feature in the paddock before the race, notably used for the victory lap.
Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and George Russell, who finished on the podium, enjoyed the ride from the pitlane to the iconic Bellagio fountains. This unique collaboration marked a creative highlight of the event, blending LEGO’s imaginative craftsmanship with Formula 1’s high-octane excitement.
The LEGO Group reaffirmed its partnership with Formula 1 during the event, announcing a multi-year deal with F1 Academy. This includes Dutch driver Esmee Kosterman racing a LEGO-liveried car in the next season and the launch of a 201-piece LEGO Speed Champions F1 Academy car set.
Julia Goldin, LEGO Group’s chief product and marketing officer, emphasized the collaborative efforts throughout the year to deepen fan engagement in F1. She highlighted events such as the LEGO brick-built Cadillac car and new content at the Sphere’s Exosphere that enriched the Las Vegas Grand Prix experience.
Emily Prazer, Formula 1’s chief commercial officer and Las Vegas GP CEO, praised the growing partnership with LEGO Group. She described the Las Vegas GP as a key fixture in the F1 calendar and welcomed LEGO’s innovative contributions that “upped the ante” for fan interactions on and off the track.
The fusion of creativity and motorsport at the Las Vegas GP illustrated how Formula 1 is pushing boundaries beyond racing alone. The LEGO Cadillac and the star-studded post-race celebration embodied the vibrant spirit of this iconic event, promising even more exciting collaborations in the future.
