Eva Longoria is set to produce and host a new food and sports series titled “NFL Hometown Eats” on Roku, scheduled to debut in February. The show will explore the culinary culture of NFL cities by featuring a celebrity fan paired with an NFL player, highlighting local flavors and traditions.
The first three-part season will begin with Longoria and a player from the Dallas Cowboys exploring Dallas for the best local eats. Longoria expressed enthusiasm about the show’s concept, noting that “Sports and food bring people together in a way almost nothing else can.”
She emphasized that the series aims to celebrate how a city’s passion for its football team is reflected in kitchens, game-day traditions, and enduring fan loyalty across generations. According to her statement, the show highlights the people and places that give football its soul, blending sports culture with regional cuisine.
Details about the other participating celebrities and NFL players have not yet been announced by Roku. The series will mark a new entry into content that connects food and sports entertainment that appeals to diverse audiences.
Longoria’s involvement in food-related projects is well established. She directed the 2023 film “Flamin’ Hot,” which tells the story behind Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Additionally, she launched the tequila brand Casa Del Sol in 2021 and authored several cookbooks.
Her connection to Texas extends beyond this project, as she is deeply involved with her San Antonio-based nonprofit organization, Eva’s Heroes. Longoria is widely recognized for her role as Gabrielle Solis on ABC’s long-running “Desperate Housewives,” adding to her profile as a multi-faceted entertainer and producer.
“NFL Hometown Eats” aims to offer viewers a unique blend of football fandom and local culinary experiences, positioning the series as a fresh addition to sports and food programming on streaming platforms.
