This year, “CMA Country Christmas” brings a fresh Louisiana vibe to Nashville with its first-time hosts Jordan Davis and Lauren Daigle. Both artists proudly represent their Louisiana roots, adding a unique cultural touch to the annual holiday special on ABC.
Lauren Daigle highlights her Louisiana heritage by performing alongside The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, a renowned New Orleans music institution. She expressed her love for jazz-infused Christmas music, citing legends like Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole as inspirations. Daigle said, “Honestly, jazz music is what I love so much about Christmas. So to have like a little hat tip to the Christmas music that I love, I’m really excited.”
Jordan Davis plans a special collaboration performing “Go Tell It On the Mountain” with Little Big Town, whom he praised as some of his favorite voices. “Being able to perform with them is going to be awesome,” Davis shared, emphasizing the significance of celebrating Louisiana’s musical staples within this Nashville-based event.
The festive lineup is packed with star power including Megan Moroney, Riley Green, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and BeBe Winans. Additionally, Lady A and Parker McCollum will debut a brand-new Christmas song, enriching the program’s holiday spirit further. Lady A’s Dave Haywood described the special as a family tradition, saying, “Every year when it comes on, my family, we’re all around, gather around and watch it.”
Parker McCollum also expressed his enthusiasm for joining the holiday celebration early, noting that he “would never say no to that.” The show will air December 2 at 9/8c on ABC and will be available for streaming the following day on Hulu and Disney+, both owned by The Walt Disney Company.
This year’s “CMA Country Christmas” successfully blends Louisiana’s jazz and country music heritage with Nashville’s festive spirit, promising a memorable and harmonious holiday experience for viewers nationwide.
